Loss of Sister-in-law
Yesterday my sister-in-law Sarah went home to be with the Lord after a 5-year battle with cancer. Praise God that she is with Him now, and at peace.

Please pray for her husband Bruce, her daughters Ruth and Beth, all of whom love the Lord. My family as well are Christians, but her sister Connie, brother Sam, and mother Mary-Jean are not, as well as spouses Peter, and Ellie.

Pray for travel mercies as we travel from Toronto to Deleware, her brother comes from Cleveland, and sister from France.

As well, next week we are all together for a family vacation that was planned long in advance, so we will be mourning and laughing together. Pray that my wife Alice and I, our kids (Christine, Joel, Brian) as well as Sarah's family will have a good testimony of the hope we have in Christ to the others.

I'll miss Sarah, but how wonderful that its "until later" rather than goodbye. How good is our God!

Update:

Thank you so much for your prayers. All the international travelers have arrived safely, and tonight we had the viewing at the funeral home. God has been sustaining all of us.

Tomorrow, (Monday) is the funeral service. One of the advantages, if you can call it that, of a long battle with cancer, is you can plan ahead. Sarah wrote most of all the funeral service. It is a strong faith-filled service. We are praying for the unsaved members of the family that this will have a strong impact on them.

Once again, thank you for your prayers!
