The world has sought to try and take over Christmas, and has done much of this — who can resist the baby in the manger, with angels and shepherds and wise men? But the world does not understand resurrection, and does not know what to do with it. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Praying Mark 16:1-8 over all Your children today and always, dear Lord, especially those battling cancer: ”When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. You go before us, You are behind us, and You surround us on all sides! Jeremiah watched his country fall apart and his friends get taken into exile. The twelve disciples endured all kinds of difficulties like beatings, persecution, imprisonment, torture, isolation and death. Paul was probably one of the most tortured and tormented men in the Bible. But they all persevered because they knew that nothing, not even death, would separate them from You or Your promises. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Oh Lord, thank You for Your promises that are so precious and wonderful; promises of Your forgiveness, eternal life, Your never-ending love, Your Holy Spirit, and salvation, just to name a few! Because our world is broken, bad things happen. So we can find ourselves battling cancer beyond our control where doubt, fear and anger can be common responses. Thank You that during those moments of doubt, fear, and anger, we can look to You and be given Your strength, peace and grace each and every day!
