Lord, please give your hurting child peace and wisdom as he goes through this difficult time. Work in the heart of his wife and cause her to return to You. Give him rest and sleep. Help his faith to grow as you provide his needs and become his source of comfort. Help him to find His joy in You and cause his smile to return as he recognizes your blessings.

Dear brother in Christ, I’ve experienced this same pain when I was in my 30s. I married the mother of my children for life until death do us part. I simply could not have loved any woman more. We were married 10 years. God blessed us with a son and a daughter. We were in the ministry. I was a pastor. When I was 19, before I ever met her I spent a year in prison for marijuana. I can honestly say the pain I experienced from divorce was 100X worse than the pain I experienced in prison My brother, your pain and brokenness is real. I encourage you to remain faithful even when you don’t feel like it. Allow yourself to fall in love with Jesus above all others. God will mend your broken heart. His timing never matches what we’ve set up in our hearts. Allow the Holy Spirit to have His way. He who began a good work will complete it. Read the Psalms over & over. Continue, daily to cast your cares on the Lord…He cares for you! One last thing. I’ll be 65 in December. Although my marriage was never restored she and I are friends. My relationship with our children and grandchildren could not be any better or more joyous! Twenty years ago God sent me the most amazing woman. She’s a mighty woman of God.
