Our natural reaction is to defend ourselves, to fight back, to let the other person know, they crossed the line. (Our boundaries) You need to understand, strength is not always about the loudest voice in the room. Strength is about control. When someone disrespects you, they are trying to dragged you to their level, they want a reaction. They want you to respond with anger, frustration, or even raged. Because when you do. Bingo! They control you! But when you stay quiet. When you refused to give them what they want, you stay in control. You maintained your power. The power of restrained is one of the most underrated strengths a person can possess. It is often mistaken for weakness. This young man, does not respect himself.
