May 13, 2019 at 4:51 amSon still struggling with alcoholism and justifies the use of other substances. Is a Believer, but life choices including closest friends put him on a different path. Wants to break free, at same time wants to blame those that care about him the most for his present state of affairs. Advised by family doctor to go to AA or Christian program at a local church. Decided to go to private counselling. Counselor is a non-believer. We know God is not limited in what or who He uses to help us. Doctor says son needs accountability which AA or Christian group will provide. Son seems to be drinking as much as before. Husband and I know that God’s not finished. Hurtful to watch, but trusting God just the same. Thank you in advance for your prayers.

May 13, 2019 at 9:43 amHoly Father, I take the hand of my sister and join her and the other DAB prayer warriors before your throne of grace and mercy , where we can pour out our hearts and receive from you our comfort as well as our battle instructions. It is battle, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we take authority over the demons of addiction, and command them to take their hands off the life of this son. We command in the name of Jesus that these evil forces leave the dwelling place of this man, release their talons of death from his body and his soul, and that his companions in this dark life abandon him. I pray that the miraculous, redemptive power of your Holy Spirit inhabit the spaces within and around this man so that he be drawn to the source of his healing. Heavenly Father, I testify standing here with my intercessors that you will quickly receive this son if he will but turn to you. I thank you for your love of the prodigal, and I ask you to divinely give us your love and wisdom in how to guide the prodigal. I cry out, Father, for the life of this man, for addiction is truly a path of death and destruction. We cannot redeem, Father. Only you can do that. We pray at your throne pleading for the life of this man. I lift my hands in praise to you that this man knows you. Speak to him, Father, as only you can do. Guide him to the treatment that you have prepared for him. My heart breaks, Father, for the difficult days ahead for this man as he walks away from his addiction. I pray you would draw especially near to him so that he can feast on your compassion and companionship during this season of healing. Precious Father, help us to return to your throne often pleading for this life and his healing from this disease. Help that the faith of the intercessors does not waver during this critical time that we must stand together in the gap for our brother.

May 13, 2019 at 10:50 amStanding in agreement with those prayers. Also, kneeling in humility in petition before the Lord on behalf of this son. Yes, addiction is the path of death and destruction I have seen up close and personal. Lord we humbly ask for Your divine intervention. Help this son find his way to a Celebrate Recovery group where he can hear Your truth, learn how to live better, and come away from all that is holding him captive.

May 15, 2019 at 5:21 amFather in heaven, I pray you would intervene in the life of this man so that he cannot help but see you in every aspect of his life. Please bring people into his life that will point him back to you. Please heal his body and mind to be able to see clearly what he is doing to himself. Lord, we trust you. Thank you for your provision.

May 21, 2019 at 9:16 amHeavenly Father, I return to your throne room today for this son of yours. We might forget about these ones as we return to our routines but you never forget. I thank you that their needs are ever before you. Gather this son into your arms even as he is under the influence of his addiction, and reveal to him your truth as his Redeemer and the serious truth of his disease of addiction.
