May 11, 2020 at 6:59 amHello, my name is Carrie. I am asking for prayer to change my perspective on things. I continually feel let down on any holiday were you may be treated differently and cared for more. Within the last three weeks, I had my 40th birthday, our 16th anniversary, and then Mothers Day. I received no gifts for any of these. Like an actually physical gift my husband took time and energy to get it on time. He did help with the kids more so i could do some things, and picked up some, but it all seems like a complete let down. I struggle with wanting/expecting something, then get super depressed when i face the reality that is not going to happen. Pray i love my husband, even with all the faults i see he has. That i can push past personal feelings, and feel the love of God and KNOW that he sees me and validates me. I give so much for my family, and for others. It is so hard not to have much in return. Thank you in advance for your prayers.

May 11, 2020 at 10:28 amStanding in agreement with these prayers for our sister, Carrie. Lord, what she desires is good. Open the eyes of those around her to reach out and bless her in ways that she feels loved. May she learn to lower her expectations so as to not feel disappointed. Help her ask clearly for what she wants.
I hear you, sister! Yesterday was my birthday and Mother’s day so rather than be disappointed I choose to do some things that I like: I am having flowers delivered to myself, I baked my own birthday cake, I FaceTimed with our grandson – this way I got what I wanted. Eventhough our youngest son knew what is my favorite cake, my dear husband did not. It’s who they are. So this celebration was better than many I think because my attitude was better. And, ironically, I received several floral arrangements and now I’m living my dream of being in a florist shop. So pretty! Blessings, gail
