April 8, 2018 at 9:06 pmPlease pray for me as I have to decide very soon whether to renew my teaching contract. I am of two minds whether to stay at a position with people that I love working with and a job that brings a lot of meaning, friends, and structure to my life, or leaving to either stay home and be less stressed with the copious amounts of work a teacher has to do, or get something part-time (hopefully with less work pressures). If I leave the job I might have more time to work with my teenage Asperger’s son too, but it also might make me more depressed as he is difficult to work with. I would also feel cut off from friends as outside of work I don’t have any. I feel I do not have clear direction from he Lord. Both options seem to have equal advantages/disadvantages that I am not able to mention all of here, and I am just not sure what I am supposed to do. Thanks for praying. Love to you!

April 8, 2018 at 10:51 pmDear Jacqui: I’m standing with you in prayer sister. Thank you for standing with me- God answered as we prayed!! Praise Him!!
As for your situation- I am somewhat familiar. When my son was born I decided to leave a wonderful yet demanding job I loved and found purpose in because I wanted to devote myself to being a Mom and to trusting God for a better life. I was blessed but it had its challenges. I thought about it just the other day- what that decision cost me. I felt my answer to leave came when I spoke with a new Mom who like you was a teacher and had to return to work without anyone to care for her infant. I wanted to help and became the child’s Nanny which allowed me time to be with my own son more. My life changed courses and was never the same. I lost many friends. I lost the purpose I had. But I can say without a doubt, God Never failed me and I’m sure my walking by faith pleased Him.
Sacrificing is never easy but it is usually the higher road. Maybe your son needs you and God will grow you in new ways as you depend on Him to be your strength while caring for your son. God always wants us to grow and learn to depend on Him more.
A couple years ago I decided to leave my job and be a stay at home Mom. I’m still not used to it but I sure do appreciate it! My children have me for better or worse – at times. We love each other and are learning and growing together. Most days I feel like a total failure, but I press on and dig in. I take those negative thoughts captive and rely on God. He is faithful. He provides.
Having been a school teacher and being married to a school teacher, I understand what it requires if you are responsible, loyal and care. It takes a lot of time and energy. I’ll pray for you to make the best decision that God will lead you to make.
Father, thank You for Jacqui. Thank You for her request. I lift it to You. Lead her to what is best for herself and others- especially her son. If I had known what the outcome would have been when I made the decision to leave my job I don’t think I would’ve done it. I was so bright eyed and optimistic. I trusted You. I still trust You…my story isn’t over! The best is yet to come! I believe it!! Comfort, safety, security and blessings are in You!! You are ever faithful! You surely know how to give good gifts to your children and oh how You do!! I praise You!!! Let Jacqui hear Your voice and go where You lead. There ate great blessings in store!!! Give her Your peace. Thank You for answering prayer. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
Be blessed, sister!

April 8, 2018 at 10:57 pmJacqui, so I didn’t confuse you…I left my job then returned and then a year or so after my daughter was born, I decided to leave another job. My son and daughter are 3 years apart. Also, I see I wrote “ate” But meant “are”. Trust God. He answers prayer!
