I ask that you send up a prayer for me and my 3 daughters as we go through this very contentious divorce process. I initially did not want this divorce as I had pleaded with my husband to get help for his substance use issues (he smokes marijuana and drinks heavily). Of course he denied he had a problem and put me through hell as he battled me in court for custody of my kids and came after me for child support and alimony. He used to be in the navy but has been a stay-at-home dad for the past 10 years and has not worked. He is very capable of working but is so accustomed to the lifestyle I brought to our family and does not want to work. I’m praying that my husband’s heart is softened, that his eyes are wide open and that he turns to God for repentance. My husband is spiraling downwards. In October, he was arrested for stealing a car, bailed himself out and then rearrested for trespassing and spent a week in jail. It’s unbelievable how the family court services still allowed him to have 50/50 custody of our children. He goes to court this Thurs, Jan 30th for his preliminary exam. I haven’t been able to sleep for the past 2 nights as I am worried about them just giving him a slap on the wrist. I want him to get treatment for his mental health issues as he was recently diagnosed as having manic bipolar depression. I need prayers for peace of mind, that the judges see what needs to be done and that my husband receives the proper judgment. I also ask for prayer that my husband stops talking to our children about our divorce case. They are too young to deal with these adult matters. Thank you so much for your prayers.
