January 13, 2017 at 7:55 amHi I’m Steve in Spokane Washington. My wife Regina filed for divorce October 27th 2016. I have a ten year old boy. She left me but now wants the house and majority custody of our son though she’s not around much. We have temporary orders that has me as the primary parent and I have the house. I’m scared about how this will turn. I do want reconciliation but I have lost hope for that. I waited for her for two years when she abandoned us two year ago and now she’s filed for divorce it feel hopeless. Anyway, I pray that God’s will be done and I know He hates divorce. I pray for a miracle and reconciliation. Thank you.

January 13, 2017 at 8:25 amPraying, my brother. Just coming out the back side of a similar situation, and also had my (now ex) wife leave with our daughter, who is now 7, for a while a few years back. Obviously a long story, but I ended up filing the divorce paperwork (after she had a restraining order on me that was soon dismissed) and ended up with the house, custody, and a majority of parenting time. Since she’s now failing to even comply with that, it may move even more into my favor in the future.
I mostly want to know I’m praying with you, and from a non lawyer perspective but having dealt with it unfortunately, the temporary order and the lack of involvement you describe are going to help you in the end. Stay strong, speak and stand up for the truth, make your child the focus of everything, and know that there will be and end to this momentary difficult time, one way or another.
If you want to chat, send me a note and I am happy to be available, or reply depending on what this forum allows you to do.

January 13, 2017 at 1:30 pmMy Brother Steven,
I will tell you my story then we shall pray. I have been married close to 15 years now. In my 1st few years of marriage , anytime my husband and I got into an argument he would easily bring up the word divorce! I would always say we shall NOT divorce. Remember the tongue is so powerful than any time bomb. Life and death lie in your tongue. Now close to 15 years later my husband always says ” I don’t know how I can live this life without you” ; see the complete change ? It starts with what we confess .
Your words show Hope, you said ” I pray that God’s will be done and I know He hates divorce. I pray for a miracle and reconciliation.’ So I will stand in agreement with your words.
The situation may seem impossible BUT whom do you serve? Isn’t it God? God can restore your marriage no matter whether your wife has filed for a divorce or not!In your communication to your wife Regina , be humble, talk with love, ask for forgiveness and offer forgiveness quickly. Next repent to God for know or unknown sins, hold your tongue lest it causes you to sin, speak positively even if things seem dire, remind God what he says on divorce ( Malachi 2:15-16),
Have faith and do not lose hope please , it may take a while for things to be right BUT hold onto hope, seek 1st God’s kingdom and His Righteousness and ALL these things ( Including your marriage) shall be added unto to you ( Mathew 6:33)
Let us pray:Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the beautiful institution of marriage. Thank you that no matter what the ENEMY tries to destroy this union the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. ( Isaiah 59:19)
so we stand today to confess your word ,claim what your word says and by faith believe that you will LIFT UP! a standard against the enemy! Your son Steven believes in your word , he has been patiently waiting for 2 years! Now the enemy wants Steven to lose hope and we are here to say ENOUGH! to the lies of Satan. We speak Hope over Steven, We speak a MIRACLE over this marriage , we speak Life where there seems to be death in this marriage and we have Faith in your word. No matter the length of time Lord, we have now activated our faith and leave the matter in your hands. Take control King Jesus. You are the perfect Judge and for that we stand in awe of you.In Jesus name we pray.
Amen!
To God be the Glory!
