Hello DAB family, I am in need of prayer and the request regarding the situation may seem odd. Some background to hopefully help it make sense. My dad passed away in an accident when my mom was 2 months pregnant with me. We had some very dark years the first 5 years of my life that includes abuse. She has had mental health issues for years and was and still can be verbally abusive. Fast forward to recent years. She was diagnosed with bipolar and taking meds. It helped a lot. She moved in with us several years ago to help us with childcare. Well, the last couple years I started noticing symptoms I could not shake. She refused to talk about my concerns with the doctors or let me get involved. Symptoms drastically got worse and so I got involved. We just found out she has a bleeding mass on her frontal lobe (brain). People would normally be heartbroken for their mom. Me, I’m relieved there are answers for her erratic behavior. Prior to this diagnosis we had been trying to find ways to live separately as living together was putting a strain on our relationship. We always did better with some space. Now, I have no idea what’s going to happen. The word that keeps coming to mind is freedom. I need to be freed. There is so much baggage from both of our pasts and she refuses to seek help snd heal and then she puts it on me (the only child). I’ve been crying to God for help for months and now we get this news. I want what God wants but I want to be free of the shackles but also make sure my mom is cared for and honored. It’s messy.
