We have been blessed with 6 beautiful grandchildren. They range from 18 to 1. Three grandsons and three granddaughters. Our 3 year old (almost 4) grandson, Cade was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. Personally, I feel the sleep study was unnecessary. The reason I believe this is the fact he’s had a terrible time with swollen tonsils all his short life. (right about here I would caution grandparents to walk humbly) We’ve been there, done that and won the t-shirt! Our kids for the most part are adults and do not necessarily need or want our advice on how to raise THEIR kids! Should they ask for our opinion… by all means, yes. My opinion and my belief is a Tonsilectomy now will solve most of Cade’s allergy, breathing and snoring issues. But to be frank and honest, it breaks my heart to think of my sweet Cade being cut on, even in such a routine surgery as a Tonsilectomy. I went through this with Cade’s dad, my son, Chris who remained angry at me for a week after his surgery. The pain afterwards makes it very painful to even swallow water. The surgery is scheduled for October. I pray there’s no complications and that Cade’s pain level will be minimal. In Jesus name, PAPA
