June 22, 2018 at 12:23 pmMy husband and I have only been married about a year and a half. It’s been a rough year and a half. We got married one year after he got sober. Probably wasn’t the best idea to do it that soon. But we did because we already had about five years of relationship behind us. And I think I thought we were on a new stronger path. I don’t think either of us knew how many changes being sober was going to create. It’s created a lot of fear on my part. There’s been a lot of anger on his part. Which of course just feeds my fear. I love this man very very much and I meant my vows when I took them. I don’t want to lose my husband and I don’t want to lose my marriage. I know I have to except God‘s will if that’s what this is but at the moment I don’t know that that is what this is. The therapist thinks he sabotaging and running because it seemed like we were actually getting to a better place and then he flipped and made this announcement. I’m asking for prayers for my marriage. I’m asking for prayers for peace in my heart instead of panic. I’m asking God to heal both our hearts save my marriage.

June 23, 2018 at 2:36 amDear Lord,
Please, restore this marriage and bless this couple. Please, free the husband from whatever is causing him anxiety and making him sabotage the relationship, and please, let Your comfort rest upon the wife.
Be a presence in this home and in this marriage. The spirit of love, gratitude and worship is healing and unifying. They need You.
I pray for them in the Precious Name of Jesus
Amen

June 23, 2018 at 2:44 amTwo thoughts:
If your husband had a sponsor, has he been in touch? What he’s experiencing may be part of a pattern and common among recovering alcoholics. Knowing that could help him.
Also, do you two have a church? Being part of a church family makes a relationship stronger and a family healthier. (Just my opinion, based on personal experience)
You will be in my prayers

June 23, 2018 at 6:57 amFather – You are almighty – we thank You for the institution of marriage! A picture of the church and Your Son, Jesus Christ. We ask for a balm in this marriage, dear sweet Holy Spirit, come in, make it all new. Make the marriage the way it was meant to be. Touch the heart of this husband – allow him to sense Your Spirit hovering over him – calling him deeper. We ask You to relieve this precious bride of her fears. Allow her to know You intimately, to trust You and that You, Jesus, are working in her behalf. As You always are! We join in with all of our community who is praying for marriages in agreement. Our enemy is hitting marriages hard, what better way to destroy the Church than to destroy marriages?
Oh Lord, we look to You to save us! Show us the way! We trust You with our lives, our marriages and our children, in Jesus Name!Out of timePrayers: 219Requests: 4

June 23, 2018 at 9:05 pmFather, You tell us to fear not. You are God Almighty. When You are our Father, we have nothing to fear. Encourage this woman and let her cast her cares on You. Let her stand on Jesus her firm foundation. Let her trust You and not be afraid. You know her heart. I ask You to speak to her husband. Let him know what You think about what he’s doing. Let him humble himself and trust You. Fill both of these two with Your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit lead, guide and minister to them. I pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
