Husband’s addiction to alcohol

    Hello DAB family, I am writing today to request prayer for my husband, Mike Miller who suffers from alcoholism. Prayers that our Heavenly Father would deliver him from this addiction. Thank you so very much, and God Bless each and every one of you. Laura

    Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for Mike that he will not touch alcohol again, because the blood of Jesus has the power to overcome alcoholism. I pray that Mike will have God’s love in Heaven that he desires alcohol no more. In the Holy Name of Jesus I pray, amen!

    Standing in agreement with those prayers. Father, I know from personal experience that with alcoholism EVERYONE LOSES. EVERYONE. We stand against this drug and its use in Mike’s life. I pray Lord, that You do whatever is necessary to bring Mike away from this. Whatever is necessary. Help Laura learn about alcoholism and get some help and encouragement perhaps through a Celebrate Recovery or Al Anon group. She may not know that there is much that she can do to fight this battle with and for her dear husband. Break every chain that binds Mike and Laura and set them free!

    Heavenly Father, I lift my voice and my hands to you on behalf of Mike and his entire family that is touched by his addiction. I pray that you would reveal to Mike that his alcoholism is a disease, and that he is powerless over his addiction, and that only you can help him return his life to the harmony that you intended. I pray that any guilt or stigma that Mike may be feeling not stand in the way of his seeking help for his chronic disease. I pray most of all that he ask for help, and that you would lead him to whatever resource or treatment that is needed to restore his health. My heart breaks for Mike because he may think his condition is hopeless. Take his hand, merciful Father, and help him take the steps that will begin his journey of recovery. I pray for all of the fears he feels. I pray for all of the complex emotional factors that cause any human being to need to numb and erase those memories and feelings, the feeling of desperation that the feelings are just too difficult to face without ingesting a substance. I pray that you pour your love over Mike’s entire family that they be readied to love and support him when he seeks help. Father God, spare Mike’s life! Let him seek help before this disease destroys him and his family. Please hear the voices of all of the intercessors and mercifully move divinely in the life of this family.

    Yes Lord I am in agreement with my brethren. Please deliver Mike from the chains of addition. Deliver him and set him free from the ROOT cause of this addiction.

    Father God I stand in the gap today for this man and his family. Send your mighty Spirit and warring angels into this situation and break the very foundation of this spirit of addiction. Drive out the forces of darkness that seek to destroy him and his family. God there is nothing stronger than you and no thing that you can not restore if we are willing. May this entire situation work to your glory in the name of Jesus.

    Amen to the other prayers! Lord, reveal to Mike Miller what he is seeking through his addiction and give him comforts through other measures. Help him to battle his addiction through bringing him closer to you and seeking your favor. Amen!
