March 19, 2016 at 7:48 amIt’s been a time of desperation for me. Loosing my job and reconsidering my career – not easy at 58 – I have been writing job applications, been turned down and looking into further training, but it’s a slow process. Meanwhile my finances are a disaster. On top of my situation, 5 of my children are looking for jobs too. So please pray for us all!
Further for my studies, I have to realize that following a bad break-up with my husband, it is so very hard for me to concentrate and and to stay positive in the spirit keeping believing that I actually am capable of doing it.
much love and blessings.kathyshirlockPrayers: 53Requests: 19
March 20, 2016 at 4:50 amGood Evening Ulrike,
I know that God is faithful. I know we can trust Him. I know that He cares for us. His Word is time, tested and true!
Ulrike, the Bible says in Luke 14: 28-30, “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish…” (NIV)
Please clarify for me, are you :
– Looking to stay in the same field? Exactly, what kind of “job” did you have before?
– Looking to not work but go to school full-time? If you are going back to school, what is the field of study that you are planning to enroll in?
– Going to go back to school for four or two years? Will you have to take out loans? How will you manage paying loans and your fixed and variable expenses at the same time?
– Planning to or have you made an appointment with a accredited consumer counseling service to make arrangements with your creditors?
Be encouraged. My husband was sixty-one years old when the company he works for promoted him. At first, in September of 2013, he applied for a “Project Manager” position. He was turned down but that didn’t discourage him. In October, he was asked to join a select group of people from that department to go to Peru and Malaysia. One of the persons that went was the person who got the job my husband was applying for. When mu husband got back to the states, the director, of the department, wanted to know if he was still interested in being a part of her department; he said, “Yes.” This conversation between my husband and her lasted for a calendar year! Finally, in September of 2014, the director asked him if he was still interested because she was going to go to the president of the company to get approval to tailor a position just for my husband. The president approved the position that was tailored for my husband. We had the option to stay in the Midwest or move to Washington state. We currently live in Washington on beautiful Camano Island.
But Ulrike, God has m..a…n…y examples of mature adults who have “career changes.” Currently, at the Daily Audio Bible, it is Moses (A baby of enslaved people to being raise as a prince to being a fugitive to becoming a husband settling down to be a sheep herder to leading over 600,000 plus Israelites out of Egypt to messenger of God including counselor, etc.) And we see that God sustained him and others.
I pray that you accept and embrace God’s perfect will in ALL areas your life. 1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “…Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose]…” (AMPC)
Hope to hear from you soon…
Keep You Eye On the Prize,
