February 25, 2017 at 7:09 pmMy husband and I are doing our best to care for his mom and dad. Dad has been in a nursing home and mom lives alone. She has now been diagnosed with dementia. Working full time and caring for them has put a strain on our marriage. Please pray the lord will lift us up…strengthen our bond of love and commitment and bring us peace. Very stressful time in our life. Pray that the lord guides us in all decisions we make while caring for his parents. Thank you dab community…with Gods love and mine..bless you!

February 28, 2017 at 3:31 pmLook at this through the Eyes of God. What you both are doing is an honor. Does not the scripture say ” Honor thy father and mother”. Our parents gave their all in caring and providing for us. Now it is you and your husbands turn. My mother-in-law , with very little notice in the last semester of seminary was sent to us to care for her. I was graduating, still serving three churches as a student and planning a move to my first full time appointment. My first wife and I, just in our fourth year of marriage took with great joy. We honor her as she honored us. She moved in with us in our first year of marriage and was a joy. She love me very much and I loved her. Would have taken her with us to Georgia, but she wanted to remain in Tennessee. God is giving you an opportunity to shine. Just work hard at finding a little time for each other. I know understand the strain. Stand strong together in Christ. Seek support that you might have a respite. Praying for you both.

March 1, 2017 at 5:13 amFather, protect this marriage and give strength to this daughter in law. Give her your love and patience to help care for her mother in law. Give the son wisdom to see his wife’s needs and the care and energy to take care of her, too. Show them how to care for each other. You are good! You are a very present help in times of need. Thank you! Heal this woman from dementia. Give her complete restoration so she can again live on her own. Draw her close to you. I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen! Hang in there sister! God sees. He knows. He loves you! My mother in law was recently diagnosed with dementia, too. Praying she will be healed.

March 3, 2017 at 12:52 amPraying for you and your husband. Hard situation…our family is in the same position too. Don’t get discouraged. My husband and I listened a audiobook (got at our public library) from Ken Abraham: When your parent becomes your child. Help my husband understand his role as a caregiver of his mother…his dad died in 2003. She was a very independent woman until 2015, when she started having signs of dementia.
I encourage you to listen Brian’s tribute to her mother, beautiful!dbaker248Prayers: 11Requests: 1
March 4, 2017 at 6:15 amThis is, indeed, a very difficult road. I pray that the stress and anxiety on your family will give way to peace and comfort, and that you all will have the strength you need, both physically and emotionally to get through these trying times, and I ask these things in the name of our savior, Jesus Christ.
