Oh Father,
The darkness has taken hold of my niece Alex and she is struggling to find her way. In this moment, she feels like ending it all, like the best option, the only option and a way to escape. Yet, I pray there is a seed planted deep within her soul that wants your light to snuff out the darkness in her life. So, I ask Father, that you would do just that! You are the only light that can shine in the darkness. Please reveal yourself to Alex and show her that you are real. Help her!

I know when consumed with thoughts of death, Alex believes lies from the enemy. Father teach her these truths: when she feels alone, you are with her; when she feels invisible, you see her; when she feels worthless, her value is knowing you and being known by you.

You know everything about Alex. Nothing is hidden from you. Father help her to understand and believe that you are enough, because you are everything she needs and more. Remind her that when she feels hopeless, she can put her hope in you. Reveal to Alex, that when she does not have the words to cry out to you, your son Jesus is praying for her, and your Spirit intercedes for her with groanings too deep for words. Let her know and feel that she is seen, heard and deeply loved.

Father, Alex is feeling out of place in this world. She does not know if she fits in and not sure she wants to. Please, give her the desire to live. When she feels like she does not matter, show her that she was created for your purpose. When she does not know or understand why she feels the way she feels, revealed to her that you know the depth of pain in her heart, in her body and in her being. You know Alex better than she knows herself and you love her dearly even more than we do. Show her how can this be!

When Alex feels like her death would go unnoticed because her life seems to go by uncelebrated, remind her that you celebrate her and that you hurt for her when in this dark place. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, and worth more than she knows to you and to us. Show her that life is precious to you and that this life is not hers to take, suicide is not the only option. Show her that you have great things for her.

Father, Alex feels incredible guilt and embarrassment for wanting to take her life. She feels embarrassed to even admit these thoughts. She feels overwhelmed that you know these thoughts without her even saying them, and yet you still love her. I don’t know if she has ever been told that Jesus did not come to earth and die for her so that she could live a defeated life. Help her to desire life Father, like you desire life. I beg you, to take the blinders off her eyes, soften her heart to know the truth of you, who you are and why you sent your son Jesus as her advocate. Give her hope and a future. Show her that you are real and desire a relationship with her. In Jesus name Amen
