Today, I told a social worker I was interested in adopting 2 girls. I have been feeling that God has me in their life to pray for them, and have been calling out to the Father of the Fatherless to give them a Christian family. I felt God wanted me to do this, though I can’t afford kids; Lilly (6 months) and her big sister Rain (2 years) would require lots of childcare while I’m at work. I don’t know if God wants me to adopt, or if He has some other purpose to my making that call, like reminding the social worker that she options or to make her aware of my friends, that have shown interest. Unfortunately, there is a couple eager to adopt the youngest, and have said they will take the Rain to get the Lilly. (Lilly deserves so much better!) At this point, it seems like this couple, that we have other concerns about, is being seriously considered for parents. They baby was shaken and had a brain bleed and this couple’s nephew was living with the girls when the abuse occurred, and I fear that Lilly’s abuser will end up as their cousin if his aunt and uncle are allowed to adopt. Please pray for Rain and Lilly to find a Christian family. Pray for justice to be found by the investigator. Pray for the 20 year old living in my guest room, who is the main suspect, according to the police, and facing losing her own son and her freedom. I am the only Christian in this crazy story, but I know God has me here for a reason.
