November 22, 2019 at 11:02 amThank You, Lord, just thank You for the call Tim received from 2 of our East Coast cousins yesterday! What a joy and a blessing! We are grateful to know that one of them, Janice, is attempting to come for a visit, probably after the New Year. We don’t know if she will make it, but thank You that she took the time to call and talk with Tim yesterday.
And thank You for this new information regarding a cousin that the family had lost touch with – a reconnecting and a desire for new relationship. Wow! Previously we didn’t even know about her. May she contact us and may this bring healing to a lost branch of our family tree.
When we pray Lord, we don’t often see what You are up to. And we had no idea that You would answer our prayers in this way. But – we are so very grateful for this answer. ~gailfelixculpa723Prayers: 2063Requests: 7

November 23, 2019 at 11:32 amUpdate: In talking with our Tim yesterday, he was coughing alot and would not tell me how lousy he was feeling. His wife, Jacquie, had no qualms about telling me. He has finished his chemo and is now waiting for instructions to have another body scan. Lord, we pray that with this scan, ALL the cancer will be gone! Thanking You in advance. We also continue to pray that you help our Tim’s body recover from the chemo and the weight loss. ~gail

November 26, 2019 at 11:52 amYesterday, Lord, You saw how ill our Tim was feeling: coughing, exhausted, feeling bad. Raise him up for Your glory, O Lord. Restore him to full health and vigor. Encourage our Jacquie as she walks this difficult path with her beloved. Thank You that their son, Ryan, is hosting Thanksgiving (a first!) and invited his parents. May they all be blessed this holiday. ~gail

December 2, 2019 at 11:55 amThank You, Lord, for the East Coast cousins who called our Tim recently to encourage him and express their unity in prayer and their love for him.
DAB family: this is a big deal since many years ago there was a huge rift between the Catholic and the Evangelical members of our family. The cousins are now, and have been, working on healing this rift. We are getting there, by God’s grace. Thank You, Lord. ~gail

December 2, 2019 at 5:45 pmHeavenly Father, we praise you for the many answers to prayer we have seen as the result of Tim’s illness. What a lovely report on faith reconciliation Gail has brought us. How beautiful to see your magnificent work even in our fallen world. We do not deserve your grace, and yet, at such a time as this, we cannot help but praise you for the timing of this answer and the blessing to our faith community that is assembled, lifting up Tim, Jacquie, and their family. Father, there is none like you. We cannot help but worry, Lord, as we see Tim’s condition decline. Can you understand how we feel? We look for you to strengthen Tim, and to hear our prayers that Tim not suffer, that he would have at least a brief reprieve to enjoy the holidays with his family. Father, stomp out our expectations! Leave our expectations on your altar as a sacrifice of obedience to you. Forgive us for our humanity. Turn all of the spiritual energy we generate into a healing love for Tim, and use our love in Tim’s life in any way that pleases you. Father, Tim’s decline makes us uncomfortable. Increase our faith so that the family and the entire community see your hand in every detail of Tim’s life. We praise you because you are the mighty God and Father of this universe.

January 2, 2020 at 11:38 amJanuary 2, 2020 Update: Our Tim’s cancer is still there and has made his lungs very fragile. The radiologist thinks he can provide some improvement and is working on that. The medical community is saying that it is only a matter of time before his body succumbs to the disease. We know that God is god over it all.
Meanwhile, my dear sister in law, Jacquie and I had a long talk yesterday. I am proud of her that she is accepting the reality that our Tim may be with us for 6 weeks, or 6 months, we don’t know. She is preparing herself and together they are fine-tuning his final arrangements, going to the bank, checking in with an attorney to make sure their affairs are in order. For the first time, I heard in her a strength that has not been there previously. Thank You, Lord, for this blessing.
We are all believers and continue to pray that God will heal him, realizing that his healing may be in the form of him being promoted to heaven.
Next week our cousin, Janice, is flying in to see our Tim, and staying with us for a week. Prepare the way for her and our family. May this visit be the one that brings a final reconciliation to the rift caused many years ago by our parents who are now all gone. May her visit be exactly what our Tim needs at this time. Bless cousin Janice, who has changed her travel plans and added to her expense in order to fly in. May she feel Your holy presence touching and healing her life with joy.
Thank You, Father, that we live 7 blocks away from each other and can easily go back and forth to help as needed.
Last year had some tough parts to it: Tim’s cancer returning and his decline; 2 young men that we know died; another young man was arrested and is in jail for an undetermined amount of time, the accusations have been a severe blow to our church family. Through it all, God remains faithful, and we have weathered the storms in the knowledge of His loving care and have been able to stand firm on the Rock on which we stand. We have been buffeted and we have not yielded to the world. Guide us O Thou Great Jehovah into and through 2020. Happy New Year! ~gail

January 3, 2020 at 7:25 pmHeavenly Father, we praise you as the perfect, sovereign and compassionate God! This night, I continue to ask that Tim be healed, in whatever form this healing is manifested. Father, comfort both Tim and Jacquie as they face the realities of his lifespan and quality of life. I join the prayers for a loving, joyful and meaningful reunion among Tim’s family members. Father, our humanness causes us to long for Tim to be healed. Yet, our faith embraces the possibility that Tim will be relieved of his suffering by passing from this life into eternity. Father, please understand the fallibility of we humans. We can be uncertain of how to pray. Father, bless Tim and his family, and prompt us how we should intercede. Father, keep us faithful to run to your altar in prayer.

January 4, 2020 at 12:45 pmDear, dear DAB family – I will tell you that what kept my life steady last year was the daily reading of the Word. What a wonderful blessing! And to make things even better, we were so blessed to have traveled to the Holy Land with DAB last February. Not only the trip of a lifetime but also making the scriptures come alive in living color. God bless each of you: Patty, Felix, Joe, Emma, Sheila, Janel, Jareindl, nmcg, l.l., hurtobals and many others. Happy New Year! ~gail

January 7, 2020 at 5:49 pmHappy New Year, Gail to you and your family. We rejoice with you as you fellowship with your loved ones. I thank God for Tim and Jacquie as they give God all the glory through their suffering. May we all learn from them.
Abba, Father! Give cousin Janice great joy as she visits with her relatives. Thank You Lord, for allowing Tim to remain as he finishes his course. Father, we take this time to worship You and to lift up the Name of Jesus so that others may come to know that You are the One we LOVE. You are the One Who Loves Us. May Your Name spread throughout the land as we share the wonders of Your Love.gsimoninPrayers: 5621Requests: 43
January 9, 2020 at 12:44 pmPraise: cousin Janice and I have been able to visit our Tim each day. My greatest joy was seeing him smile at her. I have not seen him smile in months. She is very kind and compassionate, having her visit has been a nice boost. Yesterday he said he is in the Lord’s hands and is submitting to His will.
I would say Tim is showing slight improvement and I would say he is weak, instead of frail. He is making a concerted effort to get more calories which in turn gives him more energy. When I talked with him this morning, he said he is coming over to our house this afternoon. Wow! I am so thankful that he feels well enough to do so. ~gail

January 9, 2020 at 1:25 pmHeavenly Father, I pray for your blessings on Tim, Jacquie, Gail and Janice as they share this special time together. Father, anoint Tim for the next steps of his journey. I pray for relief of pain and that Tim can be relieved of any guilt from moving toward his eternal reward. Father, we do not understand our fallen world, and the role of disease and death in your eternal plan for us. Still, Father, we believe in you as the perfect God and Father of us all. Our faith in you does not waver just because we cannot understand. Father, shower your blessings on Tim and his family. If we are lacking wisdom, then I pray that you will give us wisdom so we do not pray outside your will. Father, please do not allow Tim to suffer needlessly.
