March 6, 2016 at 6:25 amGod is wonderful. He is my Alpha and Omega. He is awesome. He is worthy to be praised!
In November of 2010, God blessed me with a wonderful godly husband. He is truly a man after God’s heart. My husband, John, is a praying man.
At age sixty-two, the biomedical company he works for promoted him in October 2014. They actually tailored a position for him. He was given the option to stay in Ohio or move to the state of Washington. We left the cold of Ohio.
Now we have a 180 degree panoramic view of the Cascade Mountains and the Pacific Ocean on beautiful Camano Island, Washington. Camano Island is quite stunning; it is amazing, breath-taking and overwhelmingly beautiful. Just about every morning, I wake up to the sounds of doves or some other indigenous bird(s) cooing or singing. It is quite delightful.
As a fifty-four year old African-American woman I have seen and experienced many things from assisting a pregnant woman giving birth in an old broken down station wagon in the desert to being with dying cancer and AIDS patients while they take their last breaths. When I was single, I walked miles, in the dark, to go to work and back home during the light of day, because I wanted to be financially responsible, could not afford a car and I needed to feed and clothe my two children. I have help feed the hungry thru various volunteer opportunities. And many times, like earlier today, I have given clothes and household items to various charities.
I have never heard of anyone asking for the kind of prayer that I am requesting. I am sincerely asking for prayer, from the DAB family, for myself. I am asking for “peace” and to have total acceptance, joy and “rest” in the many gifts and blessings God had given my husband and I.
I do not want to feel guilty about not having to work because my husband makes more than enough money for me to stay home. I do not want to feel guilty about having a housekeeper and a gardener. I do not want to be melancholy and/or sorrowful about other women of color who will probably never experience the spectacular beauty that I see every day. I am tired of feeling sad for the many middle-aged women who want to be married but aren’t. I am tired of feeling so badly for the many middle-aged women who are aging, have many health problems with low paying jobs and poor or no insurance.
Believe it or not, there is a part of me that some kind of way internalizes the blight of the misfortune and I feel so guilty that I am not in that situation.
I intellectually know this does not make sense. I know this probably seems so strange, irrational or just plain weird and that is why I am asking for prayer. I am really serious! I would like to rest and enjoy the many blessings God has given us and have “peace” within my soul that it is OK to receive and experience good gifts. I really desperately need your prayers DAB family.
Thank you.jwallac7Prayers: 9Requests: 2
March 6, 2016 at 11:58 amI will pray for you, that God will complete His perfect will in you. Perhaps these burdens on your heart for other women is God telling you that He has a much Bigger plan for you…but I encourage you to let God reveal His other plans for your life through intense prayer and supplication. Keep on praying and thanking God for his many blessing and the many more blessing He will have on your future.

March 6, 2016 at 10:58 pmDear jwallac7,
Thank you very much for your prayer for God’s perfect will in my life. It is my prayer also.
Very interesting…Just this morning I had a heart to heart conversation with my husband. We spoke about exactly what you wrote…” God telling you (me) that He has a much bigger plan for me”. (Written prior to 10 a.m.)
It is now 3 p.m. PST
My husband and I went to church and guess what? The passages of scripture and the preceding song before the message was about resting in the Lord! Can you believe?!!! AMAZING!
GOD IS AWESOME.
Thank you once again for your prayers.jtylerk9Prayers: 1512Requests: 7

March 9, 2016 at 10:08 amKathy, Just heard your prayer request on the prayer line. Don’t know if this will help your current question but check out Gotquestions.org. For me one of the best biblical websites to research and answer questions that you might have , completely backed up by scripture.

March 9, 2016 at 6:00 pmDear jtylerk9,
I was surprised and pleased that my prayer request was heard by many today.
Brian commentary is right on point, God wants to bless us. Why we sabotage, interfere with God’s perfect will, exalt our thinking above God’s Holy Word and depend on our “feelings” to live our everyday lives is plainly foolish and destructive. Thank God for new mercies everyday. Thank God for His grace. Whew!
I refuse to be like Lot’s wife and look back and I am certainly NOT grumbling or murmuring about the blessings and gifts God has given my husband and I. Ha! Ha! Ha! No way! :-))
I know that people are praying for me. Today, I am certainly more at peace, resting and enjoying God’s bountiful blessings. I am going to go back outside in my garden and enjoy it.
Thank you for your prayers and sharing.
God bless,

March 18, 2016 at 11:04 pmDear Daily Bible Family,
Thank you for your concern and prayers, family. My desire is to let you know that your prayers were not in vain, they have been heard! 🙂 God has been blessing my family, soooooooooooooooooo much. I been trying to inform you of how I am maturing and accepting God’s blessings and gifts of rest, having peace, and enjoying the abundance of His love but ever time I try to write, God bursts forth and blesses us ADDITIONALLY AND ABUNDANTLY more than what we can ask for or even think. God is good! Praise God! Hallelujah! Ha! Ha! Ha!However, I am determined to get this letter to you! Ha ha ha!
Starting Sunday, March 6th, after my husband and I spoke as man and wife before church, the hymn before the sermon and during the second reading of scripture’s was exactly what we had been praying about. Ha! Ha! The theme was about “peace and resting in the Lord.” Isn’t God good!
Second, Thursday, March 10th, I went down to our first tier of our backyard looking at the rock garden and I just talking with God. I thought some primroses would look so nice among the rocks and succulents. Daily Audio Bible family this is how God showed His love…once again.
Friday, March 11th, I had an appointment with my physiatrist (spine doctor) in the same city my husband works; consequently, after departing , I had three hours to kill before my appointment. I drove to a nationally recognized 24 hour store to see what vegetable seeds they had available. I was in the Lawn and Garden section when I decided to go see what they had outdoor. I discovered a blue flat cart with primroses on it, one tray was stacked on top of the other. I asked an employee if there was anyone in the Garden Center and she instructed me to talk to a cashier to have the manager of that department paged. The manager came up front to the cashier. I asked her about the cart of primroses. To my surprises, the Lawn and Garden manager, Raquel, explained to me that the store had “zeroed out” the primroses and they were going to get rid of them. She said that if I wanted them, they would sale them to me for a penny each! I thought she was joking but I told her that would be fine. She retrieved them and proceeded to take them to the register to have the cashier ring them out after she changed the price on them. The machine she had to change the price would not work; she attempted four times. After the last attempt, she told me to hold on and that she was going to speak to the store manager. After about five minutes, she came back. She asked me if I had checked out and I told her that I had not. She said, “Good.” and that the store manager said that I could have the primroses for F..R..E…E if I filled out the survey that was at the top of my receipt . BUT THAT WAS NOT ALL. She said the store wanted my contact information because if there was any other things that Lawn and Garden department was going to “zero out,” they would give me a phone call and I could get those items for FREE also, if I wanted them! UNBELIEVABLE! Raquel, agreed to assist me out to my car; however, as we proceed out, the store manager came up front and introduce himself. He asked me what I was going to do with the primroses? I told him I was going to give them a good home in my rock garden. The Lawn and Garden manager placed forty-eight primroses in the truck of my car. I drove away smiling. But that wasn’t the end of my blessings for the morning, Daily Audio Bible family.
Third, I drove away from the store still having about two hours to kill, so I went to a second thrift store near my doctor’s office. The store supports a battered women’s shelter in Everett, Washington. Sunday, my husband and I spoke about me obtaining some more clothes because I had lost so much weight (35 lbs. unintentionally) after having my knees replaced last year (March 18th and December 3rd). I casually strode into the store. A volunteer at the store announced that all women’s, men’s and children’s clothing was $2 each. I was in a state of momentary shock and proceeded to leaf through the clothes. A lot of the clothing had designer labels and tags on them. I am not a shopper. I kid that I rather have root canal without analgesia than go shopping; however, I left with five men’s shirts and several outfits. YEAH! Another of God’s impromptu blessings and gifts.
Fourth, literally minutes after leaving the store, I went to my physiatrist’s (spine doctor) office. The physiatrist, Dr. Lee instructed me discontinue physical therapy and stated that the correct protocol at this time was/is “rest.” He stated that I needed peace in my body in order to get better. Dr. Lee said he wanted me to go home, sit in my swing, relax, look at the Cascade Mountains and the water (The Pacific Ocean) and listen to the birdies. He said, “Enjoy your home. God has given you a beautiful place, Enjoy it!” Amazing! Another confirmation. Sound familiar? Reframe? Kudos Brian Hardin! I went away from the doctor’s office smiling.
Fifth, Saturday morning, March 12th, the forty-eight primroses, from the 24 hour store, were planted in the rock garden. They were so beautiful that I kind of wished that I had more to plant in other places in my yard. I left the house about eleven o’clock to go shopping for household items. As I was entering a store I drove to off the island, the saw five shelves of primroses sat off to the side. Once again, I inquired about these particular primroses. The store manager stated that they had already “written them off their books” and that they
were going to toss them or call the high school and let them have them. She said that I wanted them, I could have them. Another immediate answer to prayer. I loaded as many as I could get in my truck, which turned out to be 110. Because, I could not get anymore in my car, my husband obtained the rest after church Sunday, which was an additional forty. They are planted on a hill on the left side of the driveway and downstairs on both side of an entrance door.
Sixth, my daughter, Katy, is twenty-five years old. She is currently in a doctorate program at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is presently under our insurance; however, she will turn twenty-six in August; therefore, coverage will discontinue. We explained to her that she needed to be specific in prayer for her needs…income to cover all of her fixed, variable and “one-time” (Applying to internship programs, etc.) expenses, income allowing her the ability to save 20% of her income for a future down payment on a home and employment with an employer that will give her superior medical, dental, vision and behavioral health insurance at no or a minimal cost. She had four job opportunities, these past two weeks, and decided to take a job with the state in the field that she is obtaining her doctorate in. See God working! Hallelujah and Amen!!!
Seventh, Wednesday, my husband John had his annual Performance Appraisal. He came home delighted to share with me that the appraisal went very well and that he is receiving a raise starting April. Yahoo! Praise the Lord! Ain’t God good!
Eighth, I know this is going to be funny. My husband and I really enjoy gardening. We have been looking for a free or reasonable cost source of cow manure. Now I know that is funny; however, it is not so easy to obtain cow manure here. In fact, I would dare to say that cow manure is a prized commodity here and I think one of the reasons why is because the soil is very acidic here. The local farmers hold onto it dearly. So, if you have vegetables or fruit that enjoy a more alkaline soil you have to heavily amend the soil to change the PH thus… cow manure. We have also learned that the local farmers use cow manure to spread on their fields for other crops. Well, God bless us once again. We literally walked into a conversation a widow in our church was having about her cows. I asked her if she would sale us some of her cow’s manure. She told us that we could just come to her house and get all the cow manure we wanted! Praise God! She gave me her telephone number. We are going to pick up some manure after me husband gets off of work today! I am thankful for this important and timely blessing! Praise the Lord! I plan to have ornamental and Buttergold corn before the Fourth of July! (Yes, I AM a faith walker 🙂
Lastly, Daily Audio Bible family, Raquel and I had a brief conversation while I was writing this letter. She stated that they had more primroses and pansies for me to come and get, Monday morning! Ha! Ha! Ha! Praise the Lord Daily Audio Bible family! Praise the Lord! I think I’ve got a place for them also.
These are just a few of the many blessings God has given us these few days since March 6th.
God is amazing. Leaves me just praising Him all the day long. He says, “… Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him and He will act…” Psalm 37:4-5. John 10:10 tells us, “…the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance to the fill , till it overflows…” AMPC (Amplified Bible Classic Edition).
Once again, thank you Daily Audio Bible family. I appreciate every ones prayers. Yes, I am resting more, enjoying relaxing a home and in God’s abundance and having peace in this journey of this side of the equation. :-). I am also thanking God to have a wonderful husband to have this with. Amen! and Amen again!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Love,
Kathy
