It is with a heavy heart that I’m asking for prayers today. I have been living for 18 years with my husband who is addicted to pornography. After the last disclosure 3 years ago, he has not followed through on recovery programs and he has not put any effort into our relationship. I suspect he is acting out again, based on his behaviour toward me and the many unaccounted hours he spends alone. He has decided to leave the marriage for good. I’m asking for your prayers first for his heart. 1)That he will turn back to God (he denounced his faith in 1996, then announced he would trust God in 2004, and denounced it again 2013), that God will use this to show him that he needs God. 2) That God would help me to cling to Him for my comfort and support. That I would be able to heal from the repeated relational trauma I’ve experienced over the past 18 years. And that I will be able to go through this with minimal impact on my work performance so that I can afford to continue to live comfortably and still provide for my kids as the have need. Also, that I would grieve in a healthy way. 3) That our children would take the news well. They are 21 and 23 and although they are grown, the 23 year old (who also claims to be an atheist), is still in school and our 21 year old is living at home looking for her first full-time job. My 21 year old is a christian and I know this will devastate her. We are telling them tonight.
Thanks so much for your prayers. It really helps to know that I’m not going through this alone. God placed this community in my life about 7 years ago and it is such a comfort to me in times of sorrow and stress.

Thank you donniebbq. It’s good to know others are out there. My son is taking the news in a very nonchalant way, but my daughter is upset. She agreed to see a Christian counselor to help her work through her grief. My H looked at houses yesterday. At some point I will need to tell the church as I don’t want to tell people 300 separate times! I really feel God holding me up at this time.zbol20Prayers: 2Requests: 37

Sweet Karen, my prayers are with you. Do not give up on yourself, your family or your husband. During my darkest time, I found 3 things that helped me get through. DAB, Rejoice Marriage Ministries and the power of prayer books by Stormie Omartian. All of them are scripture based and God spoke to me through them. Do not give up on God. Trust him and keep praying for your family. I commit to being in prayer daily for you, no matter how long it takes. God’s time is not our time and he will use all things for good as long as we do not give up on him. If you want to connect, you can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org
We ask your blessings on this woman of faith, her family and her husband. Please cover them with the protection of the blood of Jesus against Satan’s lies, schemes and deceptions. We ask this protection for their hearts and minds. Change the hearts of stone to hearts of flesh so they will know you, love you and obey you. Restore this marriage and this family with you as the center of everything. Keep them strong in faith and give them the peace that is beyond all understanding. In the precious name of Jesus we ask.
