Struggling with my faith

    I have been in a very dark place for over a year. It has impacted every part of my life. It gets in the way of my school studies and completing my writing. It impacts my relationships as I have been so negative with little hope. I want to know God’s love, joy, hope, forgiveness. I want to know I am His and He is mine. I desire clarity of mind. I want the torment of my past and doubts to go away. My I not be wise in my own eyes but fear God & shun evil so that it will be health to my body & strength to my bones (proverbs 3:7-8). May I have repentance & rest that is salvation & quietness & trust that is strength (Isaiah 30:15) Please pray for me.

    Ruth,
    I going to ask some questions. Have received Jesus as Savior? Is He the Lord of your Life? Are you walking out your faith in Jesus through faithfulness? If you answered yes then you are His Child! You are not in darkness but in the light. I struggled the guilt, shame and regrets of past sin. But guess what!!!! Are old self died with Christ on the cross and we are a New Creation. We once were lost, but now found. we once were a sinner, but now we are a saint. In Christ Jesus you have become the righteousness of God. Why are you fishing in a pond of guilt, regrets and shame. Those things are no more. I will give you scripture that I allowed to flood mu mind, heart, soul and will.

    Ephesians 2 & 5
    2 Corinthians 5: 17-20

    Dear Pastor Lewis,
    Yes, many years ago I made a decision for Christ and was batisized. You are right that I am focused on shame of guilt over past sin. After making decision for Christ I did what was right. Also, I fell into sin of old man nature; though I confessed the sins, the shame and regrets of sin linger. The enemy has tormented me over this. Thank you for the reminder of what Christ has done for us. I will read the scriptures you have given and ask God to help me receive his word!
