October 14, 2016 at 11:14 amI’ll keep this brief.
We’re a family of four and have no idea how we’re going to afford the coming week let alone to the end of this month. My wife and I work hard, but rising costs have really started to take their toll.
Please pray for us. Thank you.lewis.ruth14Prayers: 54Requests: 1
October 14, 2016 at 1:23 pmI am well acquainted with not being able to make ends meet. I am also well acquainted with the Lord Jesus Christ, who has said in His word, “that our needs will be met”. I am 80 years old and over the years felt the same way, but God always made a way when we couldn’t see a way. Our needs were met, bills paid for the month etc. We are taking care of our 18 year old grandson who is a senior in high school and loves to eat. We are on a fixed income. It can get very hard at times, but where I used to worry about it, I have learned to turn it over to Christ. He does not want us to worry. So please be encouraged . He sees what you are going through and He loves you. In the book of Matthew 6:26 NKJV Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow or reap nor gather into barns: yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Please
continue to read to the end of the chapter, where we are told not to worry!!! I beg you not to worry, but trust God, and take him at His word Please. I will continue to pray for you. Please check back in with us. Love you with the Love of the Lord!!!simplify44-infoPrayers: 63Requests: 11

October 15, 2016 at 11:36 amMy thanks to you both, as well as to others who may be praying for us.
lewis.ruth14, your reply has hit the spot for me. I genuinely believe that God is all powerful and ABLE to meet everyone’s needs. I fall down however, when it comes to faith that He WILL. Thank you for sharing your experience. I keep revisiting your reply, as I do that very familiar passage in Matthew. I have read, and questioned that passage several times over the years – maybe i am now being challenged to really talk a hold of it.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers, will check in again soon.avranjuPrayers: 2Requests: 0
October 15, 2016 at 7:25 pmHello Matt,
Our God is able to meet our needs. My suggestion to you is to try and help someone else. Find someone who is in greater need than you are and with the little that you have meet their need. And it shall be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. And you shall never want again.

October 16, 2016 at 2:41 pmI am so happy that you were Blessed by what I told you. Before the 1970’s my husband and I really didn’t know anything about walking in faith. We believed in God and all, but the faith walk was foreign to both of us. I have so much to tell you that happened to us over these years. It is to much to write all at one time, so I will be back later today 10/16/2016. I will say this before I leave, the faith walk is a very exciting walk. Hang in and Hold on to God’s unchanging hand. Stand on His promises.
Psalm 37:25 “I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.
26
They are always generous and lend freely;
their children will be a blessing.”
This whole psalm is very encouraging and it is one of my favorites. I will be back!!!timlarson4Prayers: 2Requests: 2
October 18, 2016 at 6:19 amThe Lord knows you. He knows your need and wants to give you the best, like a Dad. What has helped me lately is to ask the Holy Spirit to speak to me. Then I have to be quiet and listen. When we are going through tough times like you are right now, it gives us a prime chance for the Lord to speak to us and for you to learn to listen even better. It may be a chance to feel how much he loves you.
One time, He used something rather bad to show me how much I love HIM.
I believe He has something great for you. Let us know what you hear!

October 18, 2016 at 9:05 pmDear mjngpotter, Faith is a scary walk sometmes. But without it we cannot please God. I was in my 40’s when I began walking by faith. The first Scripture I memorize was Heb. 11v1. I fell in love with it. When I became pregnant, my husband said “he hopes it will be a girl”… So we started praying for a girl. I already had 4 sons. I found it hard to believe that this time I would have a girl. I put Heb.11v1 to work in my life.” We said we are believing God for a girl, and we will name her Faith. Our Faith is now 40 years old and serving the Lord! You can not worry because God will not be pleased. He does not want us to do that.
When things get tight and they will, continue to stand on the Word of God!!! He will not let you down and He will honor your faith. Trust Him no matter how things look. Stay in the Word, and grab a hold of some of the promises of God. He keeps His promises. Psalms 12v6 says “The Words of the Lord are pure Words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. KJV
I plan to check back with you tomorrow. I have so many faith testimonies that I can share with you. I am 80 years old now and my husband is 88. These last 40 years of our lives have been some exciting ones and sometimes a little scary, but God always made a way when we could see no way!!! All Glory and Honor belong to Him. Keep looking up!!!jtylerk9Prayers: 1512Requests: 7

October 19, 2016 at 12:18 pmlewis.ruth14 we are in our 40s, and as with your experience, are finding ourselves having to rely on faith. I appreciate that to do so, is no bad thing. In fact, I imagine it’s how we are meant to live. But it’s hard, it’s really hard – then again, I have little choice at present ?
Thanks again for sharing with me, it really means a great deal.mjngpotterPrayers: 18Requests: 4
October 19, 2016 at 12:30 pmTo all praying for us, we are truly thankful for you taking the time and interest. Times are incredibly difficult, nevertheless we are learning / trying to believe in the promises of God.
Having held our faith in the eternal promise of heaven and loved our Lord Jesus for over 10 years, here we are learning to live by faith for the first time. Tough lesson. Love in Jesus for you.lewis.ruth14Prayers: 54Requests: 1
October 19, 2016 at 4:18 pmI truly agree with you, Yes, it is so hard. I am hear to encourage you, just like you will be able to do to some one, who will be going through what you are going through now. You are about the same age my husband and I were when we learned about walking by faith!!! God sent 2 precious people in our lives who lived by faith and didn’t worry about anything. They were husband and wife Evangelist. I have so many faith walk stories I could write to you about. One hot July day, my husband and I spent the last of our money on ice cream cones. While joyfully sitting on the couch, contemplating taking the collection of bottles back to the store , for the deposit, which would buy us some hamburger, the mail man came. We received a check for $10.00!!! It was from the mother of my girlfriend. She had visited us and said she was sorry she was not able to buy Faith anything ,and wanted us to have that check. You talking about the Lord being on time and in time!!!! I will write to you tomorrow and give you our turkey testimony(:-) In the mean time continue to
Hold tightly to the confidence that God loves you, is always with you and will work good for you. Just keep walking faithfully in His ways. I pray you may know His presence and peace today. A promise to claim from Psalm 84v11, For the Lord God is a sun and shield: The Lord will give grace and glory : no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. October 20, 2016 at 1:00 pmDear mjngpotter, I am praying so hard for you and your family. You are on my heart and have been from the first time I saw your prayer request on the Prayer Wall. I had not been on the prayer wall for a long time, but that morning the Holy Spirit urged me to check out the prayers on the Prayer Wall. When I got to your request, I said to myself, “oh now I know why the Holy Spirit was urging me to go to the Prayer Wall.” You see my family was in the same situation. We had a mortgage, loads of necessary bills, 3 sons in high school and one son in College (thank God, on a full scholarship) and 2 young daughters 2years & 5years old.
God sent people in our lives that had strong faith in God and what He could do and would do. Our faith walk started because they minister to us, prayed over us and told us we will make it by completely trusting God. Yes indeed there were very scary times, but we had to hang on. We started digging into the Word of God to find His promises that we could claim and hang on to. Also reminding God of what He said . I was going to tell you about our Turkey story today but the Lord led me this way. It was very hard for us because we belong to a denomination that didn’t teach faith or trusting God. This was a whole new lifestyle for us, and we have been living it since the middle 70’s, and never turned back!!! I pray that God sent me to be an encourager to you and your family, just like He sent precious saints to us!!! I once heard a lady say, “the things we do for our children” Well we are Gods’ children, what won’t He do for us!!! Closing today with Psalm 121v 1 & 2. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. KJV

October 20, 2016 at 10:55 pmlewis.ruth14, your stories and recounts of faith really are a blessing to us. Indeed, I’d suggest they’re a blessing to all who read this thread.
I am so grateful for your obedience to the promptings of God and for your openness. You and your husband are also on my heart and in my prayers, and I thank God for the input, the seeds you sow in my life and therefore, the lives of my wife and children.
Please be encouraged to know that we have not only made it through the week, but actually have room to breathe until the end of the month.
If you are happy to, please continue to share, I look forward to reading your posts very much.
Will check in again.

October 24, 2016 at 11:50 amThank you so much for your encouraging words and your prayers for my husband and I. It can be a struggle for us sometimes. I believe the dear Lord allows us to go through things in our life so after it is all over, we can tell how we came out of it. The Bible says that God is no respect of persons Romans 2v11. He does not favor one against the other. Over the years I have heard other Christians give their testimonies on how they came through troubling situations. It helped us to realize that we can come out also with faith in God, that He will take care of us as He says in His Word!!!
I tried to write you back a few days ago, but was unable to send it. The web site was being worked on. I was so relieved this morning when I signed in to find I could get on. I was anxious to let you know how happy I was to hear you had breathing room until the end of the month. You see that’s how God wants it. He doesn’t want us to be uptight and worried, giving it over to Him and then taking it back, like I do sometimes. I read this the other day, and it Blessed me so much, that I want to share it with you, to Bless you also, and Lord willing I will write back to you tomorrow. ” Thoughts for the Quiet Hour.”
Who is among you that feareth the Lord… that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God. Isa. 50:10.
“In fierce storms,” said an old seaman, we can do but one thing, there is only one way; we must put the ship in a certain position and keep her there.”
This, Christian, is what you must do. Sometimes, like Paul, you can see neither sun nor stars, and no small tempest lies on you; and then you can do but one thing; there is only one way. Reason cannot help you. Past experiences give you no light. Even prayer fetches no consolation. Only a single course is left. You must put your soul in one position and keep it there. You must stay upon the Lord; and, come what may—winds, waves, cross seas, thunder, lightning, frowning rocks, roaring breakers—no matter what, you must lash yourself to the helm, and hold fast your confidence in God’s faithfulness, His covenant engagement, His everlasting love in Christ Jesus.

October 25, 2016 at 12:35 pmDear mjngpotter,
Please say a prayer for me today. Having eye surgery done on my left eye this morning. I wanted to leave you a scripture to encourage you before I go. It is from 1 John 5:14,15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us: and if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him. “The Blessings of God be with you and with your family!!! lewis.ruth14

October 27, 2016 at 10:59 pmmyngpotter, Thank you so much for your prayers and well wishes to me. I received a good report at my Post OP appointment. I am taking 3 different eye drops through-out the day which keeps me busy trying to keep up with the time they are to be taking. But the bottom line is, I can see so much clearly now. I do give God thanks and praise!!! I have a testimony I want to tell you. I pray I will be able to do it tomorrow. It is a goody straight from Heaven. I will close with Psalm 28 v 7, 8 ,9. The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him.
8 The Lord is the strength of his people;
he is the saving refuge of his anointed.
9 Oh, save your people and bless your heritage!
Be their shepherd and carry them forever.
My ministry is the Ministry of Encouraegment. Again, thank you so much for your Prayers Don’t stop praying because I get the other eye done in 2 weeks. (:-)jtylerk9Prayers: 1512Requests: 7

October 29, 2016 at 2:46 pmDear myngpotter: I too am continuing to pray for you and your family!!! God is taking care of His children as only He can do!!! I want to encourage you with the following testimony. It sounds unbelievable but it really happened, and helped my faith walk.
I call this the Carburetor Testimony
This happened approximately in 1989, but it is as fresh in my mind as if it happened yesterday. I was visiting one of my sons’, his wife and 4 children in the state of Arkansas, where we planed to drive to Ohio for my oldest sons’ wedding.
The car was and old Chevy, that looked like it was on it’s last wheel but we figured it would make the trip. We prayed before we started out, and trusted that God would get us there safely, which He did. Sunday, the day after the wedding, we were preparing to make the drive back, my son and his family got into the car and found out the car wouldn’t start. It was dead. They all got out of the car and came back into the house to let us know. We all began to pray and ask
God for His help. Our faith was strong and we quoted the Scripture from Isaiah 54:17. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. After praying, they found an Auto Parts store from the telephone book, and was driven there by one of my family members to purchase a part they thought they needed.
A gentleman that lived two houses down had seen them working on the car, came out to see if he could be of some help. He told them he would be right back to help them get the car started. When he came back he had a Carburetor in his hand that was the exact one needed for the car. He took the old one out, and put the new one in, and my son & his family were able to drive back to Arkansas without any trouble!!! Look at God!!!
We still talk about that to this day. I read this the other day and want to share it with you. “Your Savior is behind the scenes As well as Front and Center orchestrating the Details of your life and hearing your requests.”
He answered our prayers in a Mighty way!! I pray Gods’ continued Blessings on you & your family!!!mjngpotterPrayers: 18Requests: 4
October 31, 2016 at 11:16 amThank you so much for your continuing prayer and support. I loves reading your testimonies lewis.ruth14. You are most certainly an encourager.
I have more positive news. My wife, who works part time for the NHS has been able to pick up some additional hours. Also, immediately prior to logging in here, I emailed an application for a job that would not only offer an increased salary, but would allow me to spend more time with my family.
As I’m writing this though, I am genuinely humbled in gratitude for what I have. Certainly, there are desperate cries for help and prayer from many others on the prayer wall that make our difficulties fade in comparison.
But of course, this is about honing my faith. Indeed, I have become very much aware of a far more personal relationship with God recently.lewis.ruth14 would you be interested in maintaining contact through email? I completely understand if you’d prefer not to, and arguably this thread may well encourage others who read it. But let me know. Either way, thank you again for taking the time to sow into our lives.
Bye for now.mjngpotterPrayers: 18Requests: 4
