Why do Christians eat a pig that was sacrificed on Easter (Ishtar) Sunday?

May 8, 2021 at 12:42 pmAs I grew up in a Christian home, I am quite familiar with the practices. It was only later in my life I started asking questions. Through the Messiah I have been adopted by YHWH (the Creator) in the new adoption covenant. I can put aside the pagan practices and allow the light of adoption to rescue me and save me from eternal death and I can be set apart and marked holy unto YHWH. I am temple of YHWH, so I don’t do as the pagans do.
I get it, Christians claim Easter (known as Ishtar) replaced Passover. I get it, Sunday (the day of the sun god) replaced the 7th day Sabbath. I get it, pigs are now clean food because the Messiah in manipulated text when talking about hand washing declared all pigs clean. Believe me, I am familiar with all the twists and the other manipulations (such as Acts 15).
All I am sayings is I want no part of these twists because I am adopted in and according to YHWH (who never changes) and these practices (according to scripture) are abominations against what he calls Holy (set apart).
That makes me not popular with the Christian crowd (which is okay with me) because I say these things. Have you figured it out yet?
Shalom.

May 18, 2021 at 2:40 amWhy is it important not to practice a lie or eat only clean food, do not practice an abomination hmmm…26And into the city will be brought the glory and honor of the nations. 27But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who practices an abomination or a lie, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

May 18, 2021 at 3:08 am17Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. 18For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

May 18, 2021 at 1:23 pmSo don’t let anyone judge you about eating or drinking or about a festival, a new moon observance, or sabbaths. These religious practices are only a shadow of what was coming—the body that cast the shadow is Christ. Don’t let anyone who wants to practice harsh self-denial and worship angels rob you of the prize. They go into detail about what they have seen in visions and have become unjustifiably arrogant by their selfish way of thinking. Colossians 2:16-18 CEB. what’s in ur heart???? in what spirit are we doing these things? I’ve gone down this road . Jesus body was broken so we can b free. Luke 10:8If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake. … “Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

May 18, 2021 at 3:25 pmMay the Lord help, each and everyone of us, to not be accusers of each other, as the enemy does.
Not all of us Christians can be accused of eating the same things.
May we learn to pray for each other’s needs and faults, so that we all may be freed.
Lord help us commit to deal with our own faults, as the Lord said to do because we each have personal faults, the time is really short and there is much left for each one of us to do on this earth.
– Once in prayer for one who was really hurtful, I clearly heard the Lord say, ‘Let us start with you.’
– Clearly I was not praying in love, still learning.
May we learn to walk in love, patience, and kindness, so that babes in Christ and unbelievers could be drawn to the Lord, and not be repelled. It’s something I have to continue to seek.lenhenry2018Prayers: 226Requests: 4
May 18, 2021 at 11:54 pmThere is nothing wrong wrong with discussing these matters so we grow in wisdom and understanding and knowledge of YHWH our Creator. Peter noticed that some people were twisting Paul’s writing to promote lawlessness. We all should be aware of the fact that some people promote lawlessness saying Paul wrote the law was done away with. 15Consider also that our Lord’s patience brings salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom God gave him. 16He writes this way in all his letters,g speaking in them about such matters. Some parts of his letters are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort,h as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard so that you will not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure standing. 18But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.i Actually when you read the gospels the Messiah promoted obedience to the Father and to separate from the teachings of the religious ones who were actually terrified out of the boundaries of the Torah just like today. In fact the Messiah made sense of the Torah and helped people understand the purpose of YHWHs commands. He taught the Shema to love YHWH your Creator and obey his commandments and love your neighbor. These commands are right from the law of Moses. I try not to let anyone judge me for being true to my Father’s commands. I love my daily bread.

May 19, 2021 at 1:42 am“But don’t have anything to do with stupid arguments about ancestors. And stay away from disagreements and quarrels about the law of Moses. Such arguments are useless and senseless” (Titus 3:9 CEV).
We are now living in the dispensation of grace, Yeshua came to do away with the old, and to usher in the new. We as born again Believers in Massiah are no longer under the law. YHWH knowing that sinful man could not in his own righteousness keep the law. Sent His one and only begotten Son to die on the cross, so that we could be made complete in His righteousness. Jesus fulfilled the whole of the law so that we wouldn’t have to. Because of what Yeshua did, we can stand before a Holy God clothed in Christ’s righteousness, as if we ourselves have keep all of the law. We have no righteousness of ourselves. But, have been made the righteousness of God in Christ. We now have a better covenant, which was established upon better promises (Heb. 8:6). Following the law, leads a person into bondage. Living in grace frees us from the dictates of the law. When Jesus said on the cross it is finished! Besides the fact that He came to fulfill the Father’s will. He was also speaking of the law. We are no longer held subservient to the rules, and regulations, and ordnances of the law. We now can enjoy the freedom that Christ died for us to have. We are new testament Christians. Jesus through His death, burial, and resurrection, has made a better way. He left his church a new commandment that we are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. He said that on these “TWO” commandments, hang “ALL” the law and the prophets (Matt. 22:37-40). 💓lenhenry2018Prayers: 226Requests: 4
May 19, 2021 at 4:41 amThe part I don’t get is I guess what most call their freedom in Christ. They say they can ignore and do as they please on the 7th day Sabbath and all the days the Creator YHWH set apart long before the law of Moses and defile their temple by eating swine flesh anytime they want to. I know the Messiah would never do those things. Do they call it loving the Creator? It seems more like idolatry to me. Is freedom in Christ idolatry if you say it is loving God and your neighbor or is it just a way of justifying sin under a new covenant where you are aloud to purposely sin.

May 19, 2021 at 11:28 amLen, I love you.
I don’t know a lot, but I want the Holy Spirit to bring conviction and correction to me, because that’s His territory.
What you say that you don’t understand, pray and talk to God about that.As an old woman, it took me many years to realize, I needed to spend more time listening to what He wants to say and by doing that, correct my course.
I learned that someone else’s frustrations and anger wasn’t doing anything to change anyone.
Sometimes that can hinder, what God is trying to do.PRAY!
Pray for people that which God wants you to pray. God is the one who will bring people through.
When we do that, it becomes all about God and not man.I am going to say this and hope it is not taken the wrong way:
I have spent time with the Lord alone, studying from Genesis through Revelations over 25 times and have learned it is not enough, and that I still don’t know as much as I thought. I do word studies, word searches. But when I spend time with Him, and let Him make corrections and point things out, I realize it really is all about Him.
Len, my beloved friend and prayer partner was also 7th day and yet we could pray together, encourage each other. I miss her, so. She stopped trying to convict me and we stuck to scripture. We are in some difficult times today. We have got to learn to work together under His leading. We have got to get ready for the things that are coming against His Body. He has the power to correct us, He will correct us.

May 20, 2021 at 12:55 pmAs I understand the wages of sin is death. Unfortunately we continue to sin. There are intententiol sins and unintentional sins. The cords of death (everybody dies) are broken through our Messiah and those found in Him will one day be born again after we die (just like a seed). My Father in heaven has appointed the Messiah as mediator of the new covenant to be my judge. My Messiah leads me out of sin. I do not have to sin as I have free choice. That is why I move towards not doing the disgusting things like eating swine flesh and marking pagan holidays. My freedom in Messiah came at a price so although people ridicule me for not doing those things I remember the price paid for me and try not to shrink into Babylon the mother of all harlets.

May 20, 2021 at 1:38 pmBrother Len Henry, I love you with the love of Christ. I think the bottom line is that Elohim looks at the heart. And to Him, if we have truly accepted His free gift of love,✝ that’s all that matters to Him. He wants our hearts. As far as the rest goes, For now we see through a glass darkly the Bible says. but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known (1 Cor. 13:12). We only see in part, and only know in part. But praise! 🙌 God, when that which is perfect is come, we will know, even as we are known. ( We may view things differently,) We should allow ourselves, to be able to agree to disagree on certain points. No one has it completely right. We are all on this journey together, working out our own salvation as the scripture says. hopefully with fear (deep reverence for God), and trembling. As long as we have our hearts turned towards Jesus, I think in the Father’s eyes that’s what really matters to Him. He’ll sort out all the rest as we travel along going from faith to faith. And to glory! ✨ to glory!✨ Shalom shalom, to you my brother. May you be richly blessed! of the Lord. Amen! 💓

May 20, 2021 at 2:10 pmDefinitely, we are all in progress and one day we will be able to see and know more fully. That is my purpose of opening the door to discussion with a small crack. Typically this discussion doesn’t take place without being censored and shutdown by the church. I appreciate the kindness people have shown in this thread and everyone’s devotion to prayer as we all seek wisdom and understanding from our Creator. Thanks and Shalom as we grow together in Messiah.
