Verse 38:39. The man who had been set free wanted to be with Jesus but if he had, perhaps he would have been content with looking at signs & wonders, being on the road with Jesus & being part of the community of disciples. There is nothing wrong with these things; but Jesus knew he had a story to tell. This man had a testimony. The people of the village were afraid of Jesus & had asked Him to leave. Jesus was therefore unable to reach the village but He knew that this local man was now equipped & able to move forwards, with a new story. There are some well known ministers who have played a part in equipping us, but they are not able to go where we go. Our area of influence is unquie to us & of great value before the Lord. We all have a story & we overcome by the blood of the Lamb & by the word of our testimony. However, it can be a challenge to make an impact, where do I start? I’m reminded that Jesus said, ‘that whoever gives even a cup of cold water in My Name, they will not lose their reward’. This helps me to see that Jesus is in the detail. I don’t have to be anyone other than who I am. A small act of kindness is significant in the eyes of my creator. When I’m on the receiving end of someone else’s kindness, I don’t turn my nose up & think, ‘is that all you’ve got?’ No, when someone else is kind with their little, we appreciate it. We value that someone has taken the time to add value to our lives.
