January 6, 2016 at 12:26 pmPlease pray for my son, Michael. He wants help and finds “waiting lists” everywhere. Cuts himself in frustration/desperation. Please pray for healing, peace, and for direction. Also…for his GF Tessa, who is trying to stand beside him…but getting tired. Thank you so very much for praying!

January 6, 2016 at 3:32 pmAddiction is a demon truly. My brother is a recovering addict/alcoholic. It took years for him to recover. I feel your pain, and your son’s frustration. In my experience cutting is a way to express emotion that you otherwise can’t feel. Because he can’t feel it, he has to see it. One thing I’ve learned, you can never entirely trust that what an addict is telling you is true, so it’s good that your praying for direction. Have you ever heard of Teen Challenge? There are many programs, but its the only one I have actually seen make a difference. You don’t have to be a teen to get in. The number is 855-End-Addiction. I appreciate Tessa’s heart, being the care giver in any situation is difficult, by addiction is all consuming. It’s important to help without helping too much-addicts thrive on co-dependency. I will be praying 2Corinthians 10:4 because this battle requires Christ at the center. May his arms go around all three of you. May you feel His presence, and may this addiction soon be but a memory. May God bless you richly!!

January 8, 2016 at 6:40 pmThank you so much Vicki, and to everyone who has replied, and PRAYED for Michael !! It is truly appreciated!! I know that God has a plan…and I am trying to be patient…knowing that His timing is often, not our timing.
Vicki…I know that Teen Challenge is the BEST program out there!! Best results, for sure. My son has called them…and he is not eligible because he is a registered S/O. (Please don’t judge…party situation, and he has done his time)… but he is in NO WAY a danger to society…and that label excludes him from MANY opportunities for help.
Thank you again for ALL of your love and for your prayers!!
..Michelle

January 10, 2016 at 5:33 amFather God,
I hold up Michelle, Michael, and Tessa to you Lord. Grant each of them the desires of their hearts. Give each their daily bread, strength, hope, peace and the assurance that you are with them every step of the way. Let them feel your comfort, your presence and your guidance. Open the doors that need to be opened Lord so that Michael can get into a good life changing program. Please don’t tarry, but move in this situation soon. You are the Lord that Heals, and we believe it! There is no one like you Father, and if you say this will be done, it will.
I pray in the name of Jesus,
Amen.

January 17, 2016 at 3:08 pmDear Michelle,
My heart breaks for you as I am also the mother of a son named Michael. In addition, I have an unusual calling to pray for those labeled as S/O.
I pray that The Lord God Almighty would make Himself known to your son in a tangent way. I pray The Lord would give Michael the tools necessary to defeat the addiction that currently has Michael in its grasp. I pray The Lord would hear your cries for help and would send you support and help from unexpected directions, even today. Lord, I pray you would reach out to this family on this day and return them to the place of hope that only comes from engagement with You. Jesus, you came to set us free from the things of this world that bind and hinder us from freedom and peace in Your Kingdom so I speak freedom and peace over this family today. Come, Holy Spirit and fill this mother with peace as she walks through these deep waters. May her steps be filled with the confident assurance that You are with her and are guiding this family. Amen.

January 22, 2016 at 5:45 amI pray that Michael conquers his addiction and that his life becomes a testimony for it. May God open the doors and lead him to the people who can help him. May this family not lose faith in God and continually trust Him.

January 28, 2016 at 3:39 pmI am truly overwhelmed by EVERYONE who has prayed for my son, Michael. Thank you, thank you…so very much!!
Shelly (I am also called “Chelle”…) 🙂 I was very touched by your prayer, and that you have a burden for former S/O’s …thank you so much for praying…I would love to be in contact (mt1214@msn.com)…
I saw my son yesterday…he just got out of the hospital (again)..and stays part time at a shelter in Portland. He is waiting for a response from Teen Challenge, Chatanooga, TN.
He told me a story that I would like to share…he said that a friend had bought him breakfast at a fast food place yesterday morning. A “kid” in his early 20’s had a new pair of shoes, and came to my son, and his friend, asking to buy a pair of socks from them…..a man nearby, began to make fun of the kid…and my son came UNGLUED… asking the man…”are you REALLY making fun of this kid…for asking to buy a pair of socks??..REALLY?? ..then my son invited him “outside to settle the matter…” (oh…Michael….) 🙁 …but when my son told me about it…he was sobbing…tears streaming down his face…and said..”I know what it’s like to need socks…”…okay..enough for now. Thanks everyone for praying, and for caring so much….Michelle

January 31, 2016 at 9:51 amAt one point I also struggled with a meth and alcohol addiction, and while I was able to get in rehab and 12 step meetings. I was never able to beat my addiction until I started to trust and follow Jesus. Stay strong, Micheal has a long road ahead of him and he will need all your love and support, but he can beat this. God Bless and I will continue to pray for you and Micheal.

January 31, 2016 at 2:59 pmPlease know we care and will pray. Terrible the chains that Satan uses to trap us. We will pray for an opening at a rehab, and an opening of his heart to Christ.
We are family….

Cover this family with your protection and peace. Keep them strong in faith as they go through this season. Remind them that you are all they need. Restore health and prosperity. Holy Spirit, provide wisdom and discernment to all involved. Guide all words and actions. Heal this child and this family. In Jesus’ name we pray.mt1214Prayers: 17Requests: 2
February 16, 2016 at 9:13 pmAll thanks to our faithful God…I have an awesome update on Michael! He had tried to get into a 1 year Christian rehab program (in Portland, where he was homeless), but was denied. He was calling Teen Challenge in Tennessee, but there was a communication lag. (Wasn’t getting calls returned). Anyway…I felt a “prompting” to send a very short email to the rehab in Portland. They agreed to call him. Well he came in…and the leaders decided to let him into the program!!! He was so ecstatic…….. and as you can imagine, the family and I were too!! He has been there 2 weeks, and has jobs to do (security, cleaning, and helping with the homeless that come in for meals, clothes, etc..as it is a shelter as well.) Thank you, God, for your faithfulness!!!! He knows he has a long road ahead…but he says, his part is to wake up each day, and surrender to Jesus. ..and He will do the rest. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thank you again for praying. (and please continue to pray for Michael)..Thanks so much!!jtylerk9Prayers: 1512Requests: 7

February 20, 2016 at 11:34 pmPraying that only good things will continue for Michael, and that his faith will be strengthened each and every moment. It may be hard to believe, but many times difficulties such as this are here for a reason – to bring us closer to the Lord. I would have never thought this myself a few years back, until I came back to Jesus and gave myself fully to Him. I understood that, without my challenges, my faith would not be HALF of what it is now. I not only live each and every day with my heart set on pleasing God, but I am truly APPRECIATIVE of my faith, in a conscious way today.
God bless Michael and your family, and those who are helping him overcome his addiction.
