Dear prayer warriors
My dear Mum is 97. She is a believer, but I don’t think she is able to pray or read the Word any more. She is very depressed, and told us she wants to die. Mum lives in a care facility which is very good, but she is now saying she thinks they are trying to kill her so someone else can have the room! She is still able to walk (very slowly) short distances, eats well, and is generally well. But spending time with her is very hard, as she is just fixated on her befuddled mind, and how she doesn’t know anything any more. Up until a few weeks ago she was still knitting, doing word puzzles, and a bit of reading. Now she just sits and ruminates. I have put on CDs of hymns, offered to read to her, offered to take her outside in a wheelchair, etc, but she doesn’t want anything.

I just want her to be at peace and rest now.
