June 29, 2016 at 2:44 amMy daughter made friends with a young Muslim woman who lived near her. The young woman had 4 little children, under 6 (3 girls and a boy). Her husband is from Israel, and she is from Iraq. Her family came as refugees from Iraq about 10 years ago, and have become American citizens. Her children were all born here in the States. Her husband was convicted of a theft and was deported back to Israel at the time my daughter was becoming friends with her. My daughter told her about Jesus, and invited her to church. She eventually accepted Jesus. Not long afterward, she and the children traveled to Jordan and met up with her husband – she was in the process of trying to help him get back to the States. They took a vacation, and during that time, he began to realize that she was a believer in Christ. He took the 4 children and left her without money or transportation in Jordan while he went to Israel (she is not allowed in Israel because they won’t let Iraqis in). She was so shocked and heartbroken that she spent a week in the hospital. Eventually she got back to the States. That was in January. She filed kidnapping charges against him here in the US. She has been working with the FBI and an attorney in Israel to represent her in the custody case since then. Her husband has threatened to kill some of her family members here in the states. He has called social services on her brother, saying that he beats his kids (he doesn’t). The social workers want to observe her children with each parent before making the decision. They have observed her children in Israel with her husband, and now she has left (yesterday) to travel to Jordan in order to spend 3 days with her children – she hasn’t seen them since January. My daughter has received word now that their father is also coming (which she didn’t expect). I am concerned that he may try to do something bad to her or to affect the outcome of the case. Please pray that God’s protection will be all around this lady and her children, and that she can bring her babies back home. Her name is Duaa. Thank you.

June 30, 2016 at 1:35 amUpdate on Duaa – My daughter wrote: Wow, so her husband did NOT bring the kids to Jordan like he was supposed to today. But that is good because now he will be charged with kidnapping the kids twice.. craziness. Hopefully some one else, like his lawyer or his sister, will bring the kids tomorrow so she can finally see them!
Please pray that God will bring glory to Himself in this situation and that all things will work together for good for Duaa and her family. I am praying that her husband will have a “Damascus Road” experience. They need a miracle.

July 1, 2016 at 12:12 amUpdate – Duaa got her children today. She has 3 days with them, while the social workers observe them. Then the court should be able to make their decision. She is not looking forward to them leaving after 3 days. Please pray that the courts will give her full custody and that they will be able to come back to the States with her. Pray that Mazen will have a change of heart, and not hold that bitterness – that he will find Jesus. Pray that God will get the glory through all of this.
