Worried mind

    I am asking for prayers to heal my worried mind. I’m new to this. I’ve been listening to DAB for a couple months. I have never been a very religious person and want to change my life for the best. I need help in learning how to pray. Where to start.

    Dear friend
    You have already started by having the desire to seek a relationship with God. He will meet you more than half way! At the very first it is a good thing to ask Jesus into your life…an active prayer, also asking His forgiveness for sins you may have committed before you knew Him! The Word tells us that He enters our heart and immediately forgives! That’s it! Your on your way. 🎆🎇🎉🎉🎇🎆By, the way, there is rejoicing in Heaven, that’s why I put the fireworks there. So, prayer does not have to be anything fancy. It is a conversation with God from your heart to His. Easy peasy! Sure, there are people who are great with words and are able to pray aloud before others with great eloquence. But that’s not necessary. You can talk to God like you talk to a friend. That’s what I mostly do. Then there’s prayers you probably know or can learn, like the Lord’s prayer…that covers about everything.
    Next, DAB, an awesome way to learn the Bible! Check out the DAB Friends Facebook group! They’re a super warm group…Tell them your new, you wont be the only one, but you’re sure to get a warm welcome. Then, if you dont have a church, when you feel ready, you might want to visit some…figure out where you feel at home. I hope to see ya on DAB Friends!

    Awesome Sister Jill.
    My advice would be establish a daily routine with God in prayer, worship and the word. I think I would say what God wants is a close relationship, the greatest joy I have is in a close relationship. When you pray wait and invite his spirit it, dont worry if nothing seems to happen at first, just wait on him I will pray for this for you. I will also pray that you will come to understand how he will give you gifts, not from your own effort, but from his grace, that you would see clearly how he works, how he brings in situations to bless you.

    Dear Lord Jesus,
    Please come close as Sister Patricia seeks you, Lord as she comes close to you be close to her. Lord let her know your peace and your joy. Lord let this year be a year of joy in you. Let her see how joy in you gives strength and hope. Lord help her see how a relationship with you is above all things and as we get closes everything else falls away. Thank you Lord for calling to her, Lord I pray she can see as you bless her life. Amen

    Lord, I know what it is like to have a worried mind. I also know that you can shower us with your peace and strength. I pray that you help Patricia experience that. Help her Lord to keep her mind focused on you and your ways and your power. Help her (and all of us) to make YOU are refuge.
    PSALM 91
    He will cover you with his feathers.
    He will shelter you with his wings.
    His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
    5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
    nor the arrow that flies in the day.

    Thank you all so much. I appreciate your feedback. I will continue to get closer to the Lord daily. I feel so much more at peace.

    Lord, I continue to pray for Patricia. Show her YOUR peace. Help her learn to focus her mind on your ways and meditate on your words. Lord, I ask that you help her to demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
