How many times do we recite the Lord’s Prayer and repeat Matt 6:12-14, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen. Forgive our debtors…..Corrie Ten Boom told of the time in 1947 after the war that she was finished talking to a group gathered in a little German church and a man approached her. As he walked up to her she noticed he was one of the guards in the concentration camp where she was imprisoned. Her memory flooded with the cruelty and pain caused by this man. He reached out his hand with tears streaming down his face and asked her to forgive him. This was a deciding point for her. She had just talked about forgiveness to this little group and now she was faced with a request to forgive. As she reached for his hand she says a healing flooded her whole being, a completeness she had not known as she took his hand and said, “I forgive you brother”. Our spiritual growth can certainly be measured by the way we extend our arms of forgiveness to others. Just as Jesus extended His arms to forgive us, we too should extend our arms of forgiveness to others. Hard lesson but so rewarding. Blessing to you today.
