Cancer can seem to take away everything that is normal, stable, and good. But if we give You our thanks, we can begin to see our reality through Your eyes. Even the smallest act of faith by giving our thanks can turn our hearts and heads toward You and can even lead us to thank You for more of Your gifts and goodness. Lazarus getting sick didn’t mean that You didn’t love him, or he didn’t love You, or even that Lazarus had done anything wrong. The sisters and brother not only loved Your Son, Jesus, but they also believed in Him. They knew He was the Messiah. But that knowledge didn’t stop the doubts and anger from creeping in. It looked like the possibility of a miracle had come and gone because everyone was looking at the tomb and not at the power of Jesus. And when Martha and Mary didn’t see Jesus for who He was and what He had done, they started questioning and getting angry. Not much has changed since then for there are times when we think Jesus has failed us despite His sacrifice and victory at the Cross. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Oh Lord, thank You for letting us see You as You are, our Healer. You are the One who came to rescue us from not only our sins, but our suffering as well. All the beatings before the cross and the suffering You endured on the cross took our place. And one of the first ones we are taught in Sunday School is the story of David and Goliath. When David arrived at the battlefield and heard Goliath defying the armies of his living God, he could not stand it. David was not intimidated nor impressed by the size of the nine-foot man. But he was impressed with the size of You, dear Lord. So young David volunteered to fight Goliath. Two things made up his bravery – his commitment to glorify You and his trust in Your faithfulness. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Oh Lord, thank You for helping us to glorify Your Name like David did so we can become powerful and strong like him. Thank You for being ever faithful that we can put our trust in You. Please help us to remember that no matter how impossible our fight seems or how discouraging the doctors’ reports may sound, You are so much bigger than they are. Thank You for sending Your One and Only Son to die for our sins and for our healing! You, and You alone deliver us from all the giants in our lives. He lived as a man anointed by the Holy Spirit, giving us an example of how You want us to live. In the beginning, You created everything by Your Spirit moving through Your Word. Today You continue to create by Your Holy Spirit moving when we believe in our heart and speak Your Word. Your Word is the power when we believe in it. Your power to bring healing is not active until it is released by the Holy Spirit through Jesus. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Oh Lord, thank You that we can declare Your Word by faith and release healing into our bodies and those we are praying for. We believe that with You, all things are possible, just like the Roman centurion did. But like the father with a sick son, please help our unbelief! You guide us in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. And since You are God and cannot lie, we have the faith to believe every word You have said! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Oh Lord, thank You for being such an awesome God and never leaving our side during our battle with cancer! You did not cause the cancer that invaded our bodies, but You are turning it around and using it for our good. During our battle, our faith and trust in You has continued to grow. Please help us to share Your Word, especially with fellow patients and medical team. Thank You for helping us keep our eyes fixed on You even when fear tries to creep in and distract us. Thank You for being all-powerful and giving us all the strength we need. Thank You for Your love for us that has sustained us through every step of our journeys!
