October 13, 2023 at 4:22 pmDiscipline was also the topic in “5 Prayers of Humility: Day 2 • Devotional” on the YouVersion app that I did today, but it spoke about the other kind of discipline. The verses were Hebrews 12:3-11 and Psalm 32:8. This was the entry: ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ Prayer 2: “Discipline me however You desire.” ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ Sometimes it’s hard for our flesh to understand, but the Bible teaches us that God’s correction is a sign of His love. God does not correct us out of hatred or a mean spirit. He doesn’t even have those feelings toward us! He’s a kind, gracious, and loving Father who knows we need discipline in order to grow—and in order to become more like Jesus. ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ God corrects us because He loves us. Therefore, since His hand of discipline is a sign of love, shouldn’t we yearn for His discipline? Shouldn’t we look for His shepherd’s staff on our right hand and on our left, showing us the right path for our feet? ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ Friend, don’t you want to feel the gentle tug of our Lord’s guiding hand leading you in the way He wants you to go? Read Psalm 32:8 to see what He promised us. ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ Of course, we should. ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ Friend, if you want to be truly humble before the Lord, go ahead and ask Him for His discipline. It’s okay to be proactive about it. It’s a good thing to ask the Lord, “Please, Jesus, discipline me however You desire.” ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ His discipline will only make us better. Additionally, our lives will be easier if we proactively ask for His correction and discipline in advance, rather than going our own way and receiving unexpected (or unwanted) consequences for making bad decisions. ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ Friend, we have a loving Father who is willing to correct and guide us when we are wrong, or when we are at risk of walking down a dangerous path. Won’t you ask Him today to correct you in any way He needs to, so you can stay on His straight and narrow path?

October 13, 2023 at 6:17 pmThank you, GCOGA and Hands to Heaven, for sharing these wonderful words of wisdom and encouragement for our walk with our loving Lord! My morning devotional study also dealt with discipline as well… The Lord is teaching us something very important today! The verse used was from Hebrews 12:11 – “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” I love that this promise from God says if we endure discipline and persevere, we will have a harvest of righteousness and peace waiting for us. Praying for the Lord to help us identify the areas of our lives that need better discipline and to give us His power to change for the better. May He also give us the strength to endure this sometimes painful challenge, and help us to remember His promise of righteousness and peace is waiting for us in the end! In Jesus’ mighty name, amen!🙏🙏🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️✨✨✨♥️♥️♥️

October 13, 2023 at 7:59 pmI love this discourse on the topic of discipline. Thank you family for sharing those posts with all of us. I was reminded of the definition of what it means to be a disciple when I read through these posts, to be a disciple means to be a disciplined one. Another definition is to be an understudy. Shouldn’t this be our main goal to be Disciplined to the point where we look just like Jesus? I mean to the point that when someone looks at us, it’s hard to tell who’s the main actor acting on stage, is it us or Jesus that people see. Being a disciplined, one enables us to look and act, like Jesus. For me, I say Father, bring on the discipline.♥️

October 13, 2023 at 9:27 pmHis.Debbie; goingupsoon, Hands to Heaven; you have all enriched my spirituality!!! This is what true believers and children of God do!! Iron sure sharpens iron. By your words and contributions, I’ve increased In knowledge and you have blessed me with your experience. Humility, maturity, love and kindness is what helps our walk with the lord and our growth spiritually. No “boundaries” on earth 🌍 siblings, so there won’t be “boundaries” in heaven. Let us continue to advance the work of the kingdom by continuing to be disciplined, focused, and kind as we lift each other up and with our walk with the Lord. May the Lord continue to strengthen and enrich our spirituality In Jesus name🙏 Thank you all again 🙌🙏🙏
