August 3, 2023 at 9:01 amWhat does “fear of the Lord” mean to you? Does it mean we are to actually fear Him? Well, the answer is “YES.” I do fear the Lord’s power simply because I know it is far greater than mine. But what is meant here is in Proverbs. The fear of the Lord is a continual submission to God in humility and faith (Prov. 23:17) and consists of a hatred of evil and the desire to turn away from it (Prov. 8:13; 16:6). Fearing God is better than all earthly treasures. We find this scripture in Job 28:28, THE FEAR OF THE LORD-THAT IS WISDOM. AND TO TURN FROM EVIL IS UNDERSTANDING. We overwhelmingly agree that GOD is an awesome power. His power is much greater than any power we can imagine. His power surpasses all that satan can muster up. When we look at Elijah facing King Ahab we see a confident man standing before all of the evil forces. Elijah knows his GOD, Yahweh will be successful in defeating the forces trying to destroy him. The same is true for us. As Job tells us, in our fear of the Lord, we gain wisdom and understanding. I cannot ever get away from Proverb 3:5-6 as a daily way to live. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways know Him and He will make your paths straight. This tells me, my understanding is one of a self view, not GOD’s. Knowing this, I should not use my understanding, but use the Holy Spirit within me to guide me and lead me so that I walk in the way GOD would have me walk. I find the world getting the way at times and I have to bring myself back to trusting GOD. What about you? Can you trust Him today for your needs, for your peace? Doing so will bring you wisdom and understanding for your life. Trust Him for it. Be blessed in your walk today. Shalom🙌🙏🙏🙏🙏

I think you pegged it right-on GCOGA. What I believe the fear of the LORD means to me is, having a strong sense of awe, and respect for God, which in turn, causes a willingness of heart to submit to the all powerful Creator of heaven and earth, and everything that is beyond. I think in my reverencing the LORD, it causes me to humbly and sorberly consider God for Who He is. And once I “see God as He really is” as this supreme Holy-being who says that we are to be holy as He is holy. Then it makes me with reverential fear and trembling want to turn away from evil, and to do everything I can to obey the LORD “Most High”, and to be pleasing in His sight…Thanks for the post.
BLESSINGS! In Him. đź’“

August 4, 2023 at 12:58 amIn total agreement with my sister and brother in Christ. The fear of the LORD is not to be frightened by our Father, but to respect, trust and and be faithful to Him. 🙏🙏🙏✨✨✨🕊️🕊️🕊️♥️♥️♥️
