May 8, 2023 at 11:48 amCharles Spurgeon had to be one of the most confident prayer warriors to have ever lived. Reflecting on prayer he once said:
“Oh that every Christian enterprise were commenced with prayer; continued with prayer, and crowned with prayer! Then we might also expect to see it crowned with God’s Blessing. So once again I remind you that our Saviour’s example teaches us that, for seasons of special service, we need not only prayers of brief character, excellent as they are for ordinary occasions, but special protracted wrestlings with God like that of Jacob at the the brook, so that each one of us can say to the LORD, with holy determination, “With Thee all night I mean to stay, and wrestle till the break of day.’

May 8, 2023 at 11:53 amWhen such sacred persistence in prayer as this becomes common throughout the whole Church of CHRIST, Satan’s long usurpation will be coming to an end, and we shall be able to say to our LORD, as the seventy disciples did when they returned to Him with joy, ‘Even the devils are subject to us through Thy Name!”

May 8, 2023 at 11:58 amTo many churches, prayer is weak. It’s sometimes even non-existent in our public gatherings. Why is this? Could it be that we lack continence in God? Prayerlessness no matter the reason, communicates a lack of need for God or a lack of confidence in God. We need to understand what the LORD teaches about prayer. We need to trust the promises’ that flow out of His teaching on prayer.

May 8, 2023 at 12:07 pmHere are five promises that flow out of JESUS’ teachings on prayer that will strengthen our prayer life, as well of that of our churches.
#1. WE ARE HIS CHILDREN (Matt. 7:7-11)
“Ask and it will be given to you. Seek , and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened, Who among you, if his son asks bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him.”

May 8, 2023 at 12:11 pm#2. JESUS GLORIFIESโจTHE FATHER BY ANSWERING PRAYERS OFFERED IN HIS NAME (Jn. 14:13-14)
“Whatever you ask in My Name, I will do it that the Father may be glorified โจ in the Son. If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it.”

“If you remain in Me and mY WORDS remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.” (1 Jn. 3:21-22) says also, “Dear friends, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive whatever we ask from Him because we keep His commands and do what is pleasing in His sight.”

May 8, 2023 at 12:21 pm#4. IF WE ASK ACCORDING TO GOD’S WILL, HE HEARS US (1 Jn.5:14)
“This is the confidence we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

May 8, 2023 at 12:24 pm#5. IF HE HEARS US, THEN WE HAVE WHAT WE ASK (1 Jn. 5:15)

May 8, 2023 at 12:33 pmSOMETHING ELSE TO CONSIDER
There are many Scriptures that give us confidence in prayer, but these five are especially helpful for us to contemplate. It’s amazing to consider we’re children of the living God. We’ve been adopted into God’s family through faith in His beloved Son. Since the Father delights in His one and only Son, He also delights in us.
And if He doesn’t withhold any good thing from His Son, God will not withhold any good thing from us either. After all, God’s already given us the greatest treasure — JESUS CHRIST.

May 8, 2023 at 12:54 pmI appreciate your points on this topic goingupsoon. Thank you for sharing. ๐คฒ๐ Prayer helps us develop a relationship with God – Just like our parents here on earth, our Heavenly Father wants to hear from us and talk to us. Amen ๐ ๐๐ Prayer can foster a sense of connection, whether it’s to a higher power, what a person finds important in life or their values, said Ryan Bremner, an associate professor of psychology at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. Prayer can reduce feelings of isolation, anxiety and fear as well. GCOGA ๐คฒ๐๐๐๐

May 8, 2023 at 12:55 pmPrayer is an important way to experience God as the religious believer can communicate with Him. By bringing their problems to God, or asking for forgiveness and help, they come closer to Him. Christians believe they can speak with God in prayer and are taught to pray by Jesus himself. May 8, 2023 at 1:25 pmDear David; Prayer, simply put, is conversation with God. With that in mind, shouldn’t we be doing it in a way that pleases Him? Not to get us on a good list so that He’ll do what we ask, but to really understand how to talk with Him, and share our concerns, fears, and pleas. I am sharing this article of what a friend sent me. Something To Think About๐ค โO Lord, keep me from being too talkative.ย Spare me from thinking I have to express my opinion on every topic that comes up.ย Help me not to think I can solve everyone elseโs problems.ย Let me be helpful, not bossy.ย I have so much wisdom and experience it seems a shame not to share itโโbut you know, Lord, I need a few friends left too.ย AMEN AMEN! โThere isโฆa time to keep silence and a time to speak,โ wrote the author of Ecclesiastes in the Bible, and knowing the difference distinguishes one who possesses real wisdom from one who does not.ย Knowing when to offer advice and counsel and when to keep your mouth shut is a talent that could well be sought after by more people. ย God gave us the gift of listening that is why he gave us 2 ears. As well as the gift of speaking.ย There is a time to speak and a time to remain silent. A letter that was penned by a friend who spoke for so many when she wrote, โI am one of those who cannot control myself when it comes to saying what is true to a person.ย There are times that I am brutally frank.ย I know the truth is bitter, but my greatest defect is to tell the person what wrong he has done which he ought not to do.ย Is it unchristian?โ If you find that it is easy to give unsolicited advice, ask yourself a few questions.ย Do you know when you are wrong?ย Or do you have to be told by others?ย Do you appreciate advice or counsel when you do not ask for it?ย How do you respond when others tell you what you already know? ย And you have answered your own questions. To the Ephesians Paul wrote, โSpeak the truth in love,โ and it is the last phrase, โin love,โ that demands we learn when to remain silent.ย All that you say may be true, but when it is not spoken in love, save your breath and the feelings of another.ย Remember before you speak, you are the master of your words; but once you have spoken, they become master of you.ย โBy your words,โ said Christ, โyou will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemnedโ Matthew 12:37. Yes, Lord, help us to learn that there is a time to speak and a time to remain silent, and to know when to do each. Father, we praise You for who You are. There is none like You. Thank You for Your goodness that endures forever. Thank You for the privilege of prayer โ itโs our connection to You โ and for the dynamic power You make available to us. Change our hearts as we continue to stand in the gap for people that have trouble interceding. Use our prayers to bring about the change You desire. We want to be a part of what You are doing right now. We lay down our opinions and thoughts about how things ought to be, and we trade them for Your thoughts, which are higher than ours. Give us strength to continue in prayer, even when it looks like weโre praying against all odds. You have said that though we may find things to be impossible, with You all things are possible. We know there is nothing impossible or too hard for You. We want our prayers to shake the gates of hell. We lay down any estimations we may have of ourselves. We want only to be known as those whose prayers brought fear into the Enemyโs camp because of our faith in You. We love Your presence.ย In the mighty name of Jesus! ๐๐ปโค๏ธ๐

May 8, 2023 at 2:17 pmOverall, these prayers and others like them demonstrate the importance of spiritual growth and an increase in faith in the lives of believers. They encourage us to seek God’s will, to ask for his strength and power, and to trust in his love and grace. Here are some additional prayers and examples of prayers that include spiritual growth and increasing faith. These prayers below demonstrate a desire for greater spiritual growth, wisdom, understanding, and faith, and a recognition that these things come from God. They also show a belief in the power of prayer to effect change in the lives of believers in the following prayers:
Prayer of the Spirit of Virtue:
Dear God, I pray to you today, asking for the Spirit of Virtue to be upon me. Please help me to always seek righteousness and live a life that is pleasing to you. May your Word and Spirit guide me to do what is just and right, and to be a witness to your love and grace in this world. Father, I also pray that you would help me to grow in my knowledge of your Word. Please give me a hunger for your truth and a thirst for righteousness. In Psalm 119:33-40, the psalmist prays for spiritual growth and understanding. He asks you to teach him your ways, to give him understanding, and to turn his heart toward your statutes. Please help me to understand your ways and your will for my life, and to apply your Word to every area of my life. Lastly, I thank you for forgiving my sins and making me right with you through your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.RAS
Prayer of the Mediator (Strength):
Dear Lord Jesus, you are the source of strength and the bridge between humanity and divinity. I am grateful for the promises you have given us and the wisdom, commandments, and blessings you provide. As I reflect on Ephesians 3:14-21, I am reminded of Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians to be strengthened by the Holy Spirit in their inner being, so that they may have the power to understand and experience your love in a deeper way. Please help me to rely on your promises and to seek your guidance in all aspects of my life. May your Spirit empower me to live a life that honors and glorifies you, and may I be a witness to the hope of your salvation to those around me. Thank you for being our mediator and for your unending love and grace. Amen.Prayer of the Power of Deliverance (Justice):
Dear God, I thank you for the love and strength that you offer through your Son, Jesus Christ. Please help me to trust in your power to deliver me from sin and death and to surrender my life to you. As I walk on the path of righteousness, may your Spirit guide me and give me the strength to persevere through trials and challenges. Lord, I pray that you increase my faith each day so that I can walk confidently and rest in your promises. Please reveal to me any areas of my life where I am not fully surrendered to you, and give me the courage to let go and trust you completely. Thank you for the healing and miraculous works that you perform in our lives and for your justice against idolatry. Help me to grow in stature and prosperity as I seek to follow you. Amen.Prayer of His Wisdom:
Oh Lord, your wisdom is beyond measure and your discernment is perfect. Please help me to seek your wisdom in every area of my life and to apply your revelations to my heart and mind. May your Holy Spirit guide me in making wise decisions and discerning your will. In Mark 9:24, a father asks Jesus to increase his faith, acknowledging his own weakness and requesting Jesus to help him overcome his unbelief. Thank you for the covenant you have made with us and your promise to never abandon or forsake us. May your wisdom bring me peace and understanding as I strive to follow you. Amen.Prayer of Spiritual Strength (His Valor):
Dear God, we come to you with open hearts, seeking a deeper relationship with you. Your strength and power are unfathomable, like the endless and mighty waters. Thank you for the new life that you offer us through the baptism of our souls into the Kingdom of Heaven, through your Son, Jesus Christ. May your Holy Spirit fill me with the boldness to remain steadfast in my faith and to share your love with those around me. As Paul prayed for the Ephesian believers to be strengthened by the Holy Spirit in their inner being, to be rooted and established in Christ’s love (Ephesians 3:16-19), I ask that you also help me to trust in your provision and to seek your will above all else. Thank you for your grace and mercy, and for the victory that we have in you. Amen.Prayer for Increased Love (Saving):
Dear Lord God, you are the Almighty, all-knowing and all-powerful. Thank you for the many promises you have given us, and for your guidance, instructions, and blessings. Please help me to be gentle and compassionate in my interactions with others, and to rely on your power to bring victory into my life. In Jude 1:20-21, Jude urges believers to pray in the Holy Spirit, to build themselves up in their faith, to remain in God’s love, and to wait for Jesus Christ’s mercy, which leads to eternal life. May your Holy Spirit guide me as I seek wisdom and understanding from you. Help me to discern your will and apply it to my life. Thank you for giving us the authority of salvation, and for the peace and joy that come from knowing you. Amen.Pons
Prayer of Authority of Salvation:
Dear God, we thank you for granting us the authority of salvation through your Son, Jesus Christ. Help me to have faith in your knowledge and to seek your guidance in every aspect of my life. May your Spirit empower me to live a holy and righteous life that reflects your love, and to share the hope of eternal life with those around me. Thank you for the strength and new life that we receive through your Resurrection. May we grow in wisdom and favor as we seek only your will. May your power give us courage to face challenges and persevere in difficult times. As we submit to your authority, may your might be evident in our lives and may your understanding guide us in making wise decisions and navigating life’s challenges. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.Prayer of Knowledge (His Spiritual Laws):
Dear God, we are grateful for your infinite wisdom and understanding of the spiritual realm. We ask that you help us seek your guidance and truth in every aspect of our lives. May your word serve as a guide to lead us on the right path. We are inspired by the prayer of Paul in Colossians 1:9-14, where he asks for the Colossians to increase in knowledge of your will, wisdom, and understanding, and to walk in a manner worthy of you. May we also seek growth in our faith and understanding of your ways. Like the psalmist in Psalm 119:33-40, we ask that you teach us your statutes, give us understanding, and guide us to walk in your commandments. Please give us the strength to resist temptation, remain steadfast in our faith, and share our knowledge of you with others. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.Prayer for Purpose of Protection (Promises):
Dear God, we are grateful for the assurance of your protection over our lives. As we face challenges and trials, help us to trust in your faithfulness and goodness. We pray for your divine protection over ourselves and our loved ones, shielding us from harm and danger. Psalm 91:1-2 reminds us that those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High will abide in His shadow and be protected by Him. May we find refuge in you and rest in the knowledge that you are our strength and help in times of trouble. Lord, please help us to be more disciplined in our spiritual lives. Just as Paul prayed for the Philippians to abound in love, knowledge, and discernment, help us to prioritize our relationship with you above all else. Give us a desire to spend time in prayer, worship, and study of your Word. Guide us in making decisions that align with your will, so that we may live pure and blameless lives until Christ’s return. We put our faith and trust in you, knowing that you are our protector and provider. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.tcookuabPrayers: 3830Requests: 78
May 8, 2023 at 2:18 pmPrayer for Plan of Provision (Promises):
Dear God, we thank you for your promises of provision and for being faithful to provide for our every need. Please help us to manage our resources wisely and to be generous with what we have, as good stewards of your blessings. We pray that you would give us grateful hearts, and help us to see the blessings in our lives, even in difficult circumstances. James 1:5-8 encourages us to ask for wisdom, trusting that you will give it to us generously and without finding fault, as long as we ask in faith, without doubting. We ask for an increase in faith, and for the ability to trust that you are always working for our good and for your glory. Please guide us in making wise financial decisions and bless our work, so that we can provide for our families and loved ones. We trust in your promises of provision, knowing that you are faithful to fulfill them. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.Thymus
Prayer for Strength: Self-Control, Loving-Kindness
Dear God, we come to you today asking for strength and self-control. Help us to resist temptation and to exercise self-control in all areas of our lives. In Philippians 1:9-10, Paul prays that the Philippians’ love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that they may be able to discern what is best and be pure and blameless until the day of Christ. We pray that you would help us to love others with kindness and patience, even in difficult situations. Fill our hearts with compassion and grace, and help us to show your love to those around us. Lord, we ask that you would transform us from the inside out, making us more like you. We pray for the Holy Spirit to fill us and empower us to love others as you love them, and to serve them with humility and grace. May our hearts overflow with love and kindness, reflecting your goodness to the world. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.Prayer for Wisdom and Knowledge: Patience, Goodness
Dear God, we ask for your wisdom and knowledge to guide us in all aspects of our lives. Help us to make decisions that honor you and seek your will. We pray for patience and goodness, that we may be a blessing to those around us and bring glory to your name. In Philippians 1:9-11, Paul prays for the Philippians to grow in love, knowledge, and discernment, so that they may live pure and blameless lives and bear the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ. Lord, help us to listen attentively, speak with kindness, and remain patient even in challenging circumstances. We pray that you would transform our minds to be more like yours, filled with your truth and love. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.ARAS
Prayer for Wisdom and Understanding:
Dear God, we express our gratitude for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who serves as our helper, counselor, guide, and teacher. We pray that you would fill us with the Holy Spirit and grant us the discernment to understand your will for our lives. Like Paul, who asked God to give the Ephesian believers a spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that they may have a deeper understanding of His will and come to know Him better, we pray for your guidance in making decisions that honor you and bring glory to your name. Help us to be receptive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and to follow his promptings. In Colossians 1:9-14, Paul prays for the Colossian believers to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will and to grow in spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that they may live in a manner worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way. We ask that the Holy Spirit would teach us your truth and give us understanding in all things. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.Prayer for Increased Faith:
Dear God, we ask for your assistance in the day-to-day challenges of life. Whether it’s a broken-down car or a need for transportation, we pray that you will provide a solution and bring us the help we need. Like the father in Mark 9:24 who asked Jesus to help him overcome his unbelief, we also pray for the strength to believe and have faith in you. We trust in your provision and ask that you guide us to the right people and resources to meet our needs. Furthermore, we pray for the Holy Spirit to fill us with wisdom and revelation so that we may have a deeper understanding of you and the hope to which we have been called, just as Paul prayed for the Ephesian believers in Ephesians 1:16-19. Help us to have faith in your care and love for us, even in the small details of our lives. May we always have hope upon faith in you. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.Prayer for Spiritual Maturity:
Dear God, please guide us on the path of righteousness as we seek to be influential in the lives of those around us. Give us the wisdom to discern Your truth and the courage to follow it, finding true happiness in honesty and integrity. The writer of Hebrews urges believers to move beyond the basics of faith and press on toward maturity, including a deeper understanding of Your word and the ability to discern good from evil. (Hebrews 6:1-3) May we abide in You through the power of Your Spirit, reflecting Your glory to the world and sharing Your truth with those who need it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.GCOGAPrayers: 16778Requests: 1274
