June 29, 2023 at 5:22 amFor we must always cherish the words of our Lord Jesus, who taught, ‘Giving brings a far greater blessing than receiving.’” Acts 20:35 One of the greatest temptations we face is to slip into the subtle trap of living selfishly. When you live to give and not to take, not only will you avoid that pitfall, but you will have more joy, blessing, and favor than you dreamed possible. God is a giver, and He created us to be givers. The spiritual principle is that when we reach out to other people in need, God will make sure that our own needs are supplied. If you want your dreams to come to pass, help someone else fulfill their dreams. If you’re down and discouraged, get your mind off yourself and go help meet your friend’s need. Sow the seed that will bring you a harvest. Have an attitude that says, “Who can I bless today?” You can give a smile or a hug or an encouraging word. You can do a small but meaningful task to help someone. You can visit someone in the hospital or make a meal for your elderly neighbor. Someone needs what you have to share today.

June 29, 2023 at 6:04 amFather, thank You that Your heart is to give and give, even giving Your own Son to save me. Help me to have Your heart and to always be ready to give and help others in need. I want to encourage others, to help others any way I can, and to lift them up when they are hurting. In the mighty name of Jesus! AMEN🙏🏻❤️🕊

June 29, 2023 at 6:48 amThank you for the reminder SD1! Acts 20:35 says, “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Father, please remind us all of the original sin and disobedience of human beings version 1.0 (Adam & Eve) The perfect couple, in the perfect place, with a perfect Creator, were happily cruising along in Eden until selfishness slithered in…. Eve took the bait, took the lead and Adam followed. It was now Eve & Adam show — grasping for the brass ring instead of waiting for the gold one, following the lead of lucifer, who daringly intimates and slanders the holy One, Himself, saying essentially, “God is holding back from you both and is a cheapskate.” The jealous and conniving serpent was questioning God’s flawless character and the couple fell into the trap. It was not a pothole in their journey but a chasm that separated them and us from God. They were warned and educated but chose to rebel and were unrepentant when questioned about that single law which was broken.Welcome to selfishness 101. Ours is a twisted and skewed world, now. We are all tainted with selfishness as our forebearers were and contaminated with it. Paradise became a thing of the past and the penalty of death was actively embraced and passed down to us all. We are each born with this tendency that says, “What about me?” It is what preacher Pastor Rich in Elmhurst, Queens calls, “Mine- itis.” We tend to not trust in God’s word and promises and a strong desire resides to grab and hold onto what we think is best for ourselves. We have lost the relationship with God and propped ourselves up on His throne. The life so graciously given by God is squandered. We miss the whole purpose of it all because of selfishness. 1 John 2:16-17 “For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” Thank God for His infinite love Who sent His Son to atone and transform us all. We must chose to take His lead and cancel this sin debt and selfishness — it is through faith in God, Who paid our penalty with His Son’s death on that cross, raising Christ from the dead to live on in each one of us through the Holy Spirit. Let us each do the will of our Father and be givers of His kingdom through us. He is LORD of the harvest and the laborers are few, let Him call and His people respond and do that good will of the Father. By His power and might which are infinite and not by ours which is limited. Let Your grace flow through me, today, King Jesus. Use me, make me and mold me as You see fit. Amen.
