May 1, 2020 at 10:59 amHello DAB folks, I am the eldest of 3 brothers. My middle brother got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after the COVID-19 quarantine measures got put into place. He is undergoing treatments but don’t know what the outcome will be, since this is among the worst of cancers one can get. My youngest brother, for many, many years now, has been a raging, raging, RAGING alcoholic. He is full of pride and arrogance and narcissism as most alcoholics usually are. He mocks me, manipulates me to do things for him and absolutely is a terror and an abuser of our father whom he lives with, and this after my dad indulged him and was an enabler and taught my brother all his own addictive dysfunction with drinking. I am praying for a massive intervention with my brother. He is so toxic to be around and won’t listen to me, so I am begging the DAB community to pray for him and for God to do whatever it takes to break him of his drinking but more importantly of his pride. Lord God I pray for my brother Ashley battling cancer, please heal his body so he can be a good husband to his wonderful wife. For my youngest brother JJ, Lord, you know how bad and for how long this has been going on. Please God, for his sake and for all of us who try to love him, break him of his pride and arrogant bravado. There’s no woman who could ever put up with how he is right now. Amen.

May 1, 2020 at 3:55 pmFather in heaven, You rescued leonidasj08 from being addicted to alcohol. I pray you will rescue JJ and the dad. May these men come to know you as Savior and Lord. It seems they are already kicking against the pricks of the Holy Spirit working in their lives. Don’t let up Lord. Make a way where there seems to be no way. Surely they see the terrible flaws alcohol has afflicted on their personalities. Falling short of the mark of holy. They would never claim to merit heaven on their goodness. Open their eyes Lord to the truth that You exist. You created all the complexity and beauty around us. Having known the uncle of a friend who was an alcoholic all his life, but died a Christian, I believe there is a spark of desire to be changed. You have promised those who confess sins and turn from them, clinging to You, trusting in You alone, that you will give them a new heart that desires righteousness. This I pray for this family. And Ashley, healing where it too seems impossible. Nothing is impossible with You. I rejoice that we can turn to You. Be glorified in this family. In Jesus name

May 9, 2020 at 4:47 pmLord, this believer is clear in what she needs. And although it seems like a huge ball of problem, nothing is too great for you to fix. Just work your way in this family, Lord. Allow things to be seen as they are. And especially comfort the father and the brother suffering from cancer during this troubled time. Also bless the asker for prayer as she tries to manage the situation. In Jesus name, Amen.
