mlc3003Prayers: 65Requests: 10
February 6, 2019 at 4:30 pmI am a 2nd year classroom teacher in an elementary school and I could really use some prayers for my class. Specifically, the girls in my class are being very mean to each other and there is a lot of drama, broken friendships and hurt feelings among them. Despite interventions and everyone (parent, guidance counselors, teachers) being involved, nothing seems to be changing. The sweet and kind girls in my room are getting sucked into it also because they want to be accepted and liked by the “cool” girls. I am desperate for the Lord to intervene and I need strength from Him to try to handle the situations daily. I imagine this is not an uncommon problem in classrooms, but I am a beginning teacher and am struggling. Thank you for your prayers.

February 6, 2019 at 6:54 pmBless you for your call to teach and minister to children. Even at age 57 I remember my kind teachers and some who probably should have been in other professions. Yours is a powerful and noble profession that can shape our future generations. So let’s pray: Father I pray for wisdom and discernment for this teacher. Yes Lord I am boldly asking for the wisdom of Solomon to get at the very roots of the issues and behaviours. I pray for discernment of when and how to intervene. Father I ask for grace and favour on this teacher. And I come against whatever mean spirit is trying to take route here. Instead replace all the meanness with kindness and empathy. Perhaps a kindness and empathy movement can start in this school? With Your help Lord and by Your will all things are possible. Amen.

February 7, 2019 at 8:53 amI’m a former elementary school teacher and my hubby is currently one. Hang in there. You are bringing Jesus into your classroom and into their lives each day. They are watching, listening and learning. You lives in you, right? You represent. You are salt and light. You are love. Let Him lead you each day, moment by moment. Let him teach through you and lead your classroom. That’s what I did and it was AWESOME!!! You’ve just got to believe that He’ll do it and then follow Him. You can do it! Pray over your classroom, your school, your students- cover it all in prayer and then REJOICE and give thanks at what God is doing and will do. Walkin’ by faith- it pleases Him and you will be SO blessed!
Father, lifting up this teacher, classroom and students to You. Prince of Peace, You are welcome. You are needed. Holy Spirit fill this teacher, students and classroom. Peace, love and joy overflow. These kids do what they know. Lead them to know You, Jesus. Speak through this teacher and teach them Your ways. Show this teacher how to make time to listen to these students and hear what’s on their hearts. Jesus lead this teacher and let them follow. You can turn it all around for their good and Your glory! Be glorified. You did AMAZING things in my classrooms and in my students. I remember and will always remember. You did what others told me was impossible. ha ha!! NOTHING is impossible with You!! Spirit of the Living God, rule and reign in this particular classroom. May the enemy be silenced. May evil and darkness be overcome by the Light. In Jesus’ Name peace and unity come to these students and to this classroom. I celebrate You!! Thank You for answering prayer!! Be glorified!! Let parents and faculty and students all see Your Hand and praise You for what You’ve done. The Kingdom of God has come- may they see it and turn to You. Thank You Daddy! You are SO good!! In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
I want to hear all the praise reports!!

February 7, 2019 at 2:27 pmAmen to those prayers! Our family also has many educators, so we understand your struggle.
Father, we bind the spirit of disunity, meanness, broken relationships, drama, and hurt feelings. Protect the kind girls and help them see clearly what is happening and help them actively determine to not be like that, and not get sucked into the vortex.
We humbly ask for Your wisdom for their teacher. Help him/her see clearly what is happening, who is the ring leader, AND how to help the girls move out of this destructive behavior. We thank You in advance knowing these are the things You want also.

February 7, 2019 at 7:10 pmGod Bless you and your class. I’m a middle school teacher and have taught for quite a while. I’ve found restorative circles to be helpful. I pray Gods love over all your students and yourself.

May 3, 2019 at 5:17 amHi DAB family and thank you for these prayers. I wanted to come write a quick update about this situation. The girls that were the main instigators have reconciled. Every now and then there is a small issue, but overall, the girls are friends and kind to others. I am so grateful for your prayers.

May 3, 2019 at 3:18 pmHeavenly Father, I thank you that you have answered this prayer by providing a quick intervention. I want to continue as an intercessor for this teacher and a prayer advocate the lives of the children in her classroom, our future leaders, teachers, pastors, physicians, caregivers, and parents. I pray in earnest for the faith of this teacher, Lord, that she be freed up to be their teacher to her full capacity without the distraction of drama. As inevitable as this drama is, it has the power to inflict grievous wounds, even wounds that threaten the lives of the children. I intercede this day, Lord, on behalf of this classroom and these students. I ask that your Spirit take up residence in this classroom, these hallways, these school gathering places. I ask that you move in a mighty way in the lives of these children that they would be prompted to replace unkind words with kind ones and that downcast countenances be replaced with joy and passion for life. Let each child find respite in this school for the things that bring them true joy. During this formative time in their lives, Lord, find a way to show them your calling on their life, and let school become a place where positive character can be shaped.

May 4, 2019 at 11:23 amThank You, Lord! You are so kind and giving. Bless this teacher, her class, each individual student and this school year. As it draws to a close, may the lessons learned be far more than the curriculum.
Sister – Just this week I visited a former teacher, now friend and his wife. He was my History teacher in junior and senior high school. It was his love for his family, his delight in the students and joy of living that I found and still find a blessing. We’re all alot older but his friendship has meant so much to me over the years.

May 5, 2019 at 10:31 amAs we approach another week on the calendar, we pray, Father, for this wonderful teacher. We ask that You give her wisdom with regard to the needs of each child in her class. If there is some curriculum that she can use to teach godly traits like loyalty, kindness, helpfulness, truthfulness – let her find it and be able to incorporate it into her classroom. We pray that this group of students unite in friendship and become a shining example of how to do life right and well.
