June 5, 2019 at 4:59 pmMy daughter Lauren has been out of college for 2 years now. She’s been living with us working part time jobs. She now has a job offer with a university in China to teach English. It would mean having to leave her cats behind. If it weren’t for the cats, she would already have said yes in a heartbeat, but she is very, very attached to her cats, and they are important to her mental health as she struggles with depression. It is an absolute requirement with this university that they not have fur pets in the housing they provide. If she does go, she’ll need prayer to be able to not have her pets to comfort her. And I will need prayer to be able to bear having her so far away 😉

June 6, 2019 at 12:59 amHeavenly Father I pray that You would help Lauren as well as her family as she faces this big decision in her life. Heal her of this depression and any other ailments. Give her the strength and the wisdom to make the best decision. We know that You have a plan for each of us and when things seem hard You will guide and comfort us. May Lauren know without a doubt what she should do. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

June 6, 2019 at 1:24 amStanding in agreement with these prayers for Lauren, Father. We lift her up before You asking that You give her wisdom about this job possibility in China. Maybe this will be good for her, maybe not – which is why we turn to You for guidance. We know you will give it to her and we praise You for always offering Your wisdom to us. Help her know if this is the next right step for her. What are her alternatives? Continue living at home with her cats and working part time jobs? Show her Your way, O Lord.

June 6, 2019 at 4:48 pmUpdate: Lauren has signed the papers and will be going to China! Pray that she will have continuing relief from depression despite not having her pets with her. Pray that she will be a witness for our Lord while there. This University looks to hire Christian teachers to help bring the gospel in informal ways to Chinese nationals. Please pray for me to be at ease with Lauren so far away. We have a pretty close relationship and I will miss her greatly. Apple of His Eye

June 6, 2019 at 8:47 pmAlso, Please pray that we figure out quickly how she’s going to maintain her supply of antidepressant. It’s not something we had really thought about well enough before hand. My husband is especially worried and panicking over this. Thanks!

June 7, 2019 at 12:45 amWow, Lord! That seems like a fast decision. We pray it will all work out exceedingly well according to Your will for Lauren. We pray this is the best decision for her at this time. Help Lauren adjust to being so far away from home without her comfort cats. Who knows? Perhaps she will befriend a kitty there. We ask for Your help to Lauren as she seeks to be a witness for You. What an amazing opportunity! Please help momma, Jacqui, as her daughter is so far away. I pray they will be able to communicate via Skype, MarcoPolo, or some other manner. And help them work out the details of Lauren having enough antidepressant medicine to take with her. Perhaps her doctor will give her a travel supply for however long she expects to be overseas. We know You are going before her and will be with her while she is there. May this be an amazing time in her life!

June 8, 2019 at 10:02 amFather, I commend Lauren’s life and wellbeing to your care during the time she is in China. Lord, no details are beyond your touch. In particular, I pray that she will be able to obtain her medications through reliable pharmacies while she is in China. I pray your anointing over Lauren and her family as she transitions to a new culture. Give all of them wisdom and peace with each step. I thank you for Lauren’s life, and the calling she felt to serve people in another culture. I ask that you keep Lauren safe , and walk closely beside her so she not discouraged during the fragile transition period. I pray that you would use this time to expand Lauren’s faith in you and her independence as a mature adult. I pray that Lauren would find joy in each day, and develop a growing spirit of gratitude to you!
