December 15, 2021 at 12:20 pmHi Dab family,
I feel very confused about relationship right now and would covet your prayer for direction and wisdom. I dated two guys in 2021 and told them that I didn’t want to do anything sexual until marriage. Neither of them was ok with it and I had to break it off. I am on dating apps and most guys I meet are not willing to wait until marriage even though they say they are christians on their profiles. I just feel very lonely on this journey and doubt if there is any guy who is willing to practice chastity during singleness. I deeply desire marriage but really have doubts in God even though my mind knows that He will provide in His time.
I don’t know if I should get off dating apps and just wait for the Lord. I also feel like maybe my heart is not contend in God and that’s why He hasn’t provided a relationship. Haha as you can tell there is a lot going on in my mind so would you please pray for wisdom and guidance? Love you guys. Your prayer make a huge difference in my life.goldenspoon345Prayers: 1Requests: 0
December 15, 2021 at 2:22 pmHey jlx,
I can totally relate to what you’re going through and just want to encourage you to hang in there! You are not alone in this struggle. A couple thoughts:
– Although it may feel like a season of roadblocks, know that this will lift and you will come out the other side – so much stronger!
– Pursuing purity is not a box to check. Purity is a lifestyle mindset that carries into marriage. I know it feels really crappy now but it sounds what God is showing you through these guys is that if they aren’t pursing purity now while they’re dating, they won’t pursue it in marriage. You deserve someone who honors that commitment of purity and will strive after it for the long term with you, because they want it for themselves too.
– God never leaves you without. If He is calling you to wait, He will bring someone into your life with the same goals. “If He orders the item He will foot the bill.”
– Also, please don’t be afraid to let your prayer life explode over your relationships!
Of course we surrender our relationships (and everything in our life) to God, but sadly I see too many churches calling single people to “surrender and leave it alone at God’s feet” — WHAT?! No no no pray into that HARD because reality is God wants a partner in this (hence why He created us – Genesis 1:26 – we were created to come under God’s mission and carry out His desires – like marriage) and He wants for this to be a dream that you two build out together (remember – God literally asked Adam what He thought the animals should be named – Genesis 2:19 – hence He loves to hear our thoughts).
Praying for you and just know that God sees you, knows you, and understands exactly where you’re at! He wants you close to Him and it sounds like you are already there. And that’s where the greatest things happen!

December 15, 2021 at 3:39 pmAmen! in agreement with these prayers.
Good things come to those who wait. Is that in the bible? I don’t think so, lol. But it proves to be true a lot of the time. The Bible dose tell us in more than one place to wait on the LORD.
Hold on to God, And to His promises, and continue believing that He’s holding on to you. What He has instore for you, far outreaches any thing that you have ever imagined.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: Wait, I say, on the Lord (Psa. 27:14).
In JESUS precious name. Amen! 💓

December 16, 2021 at 12:57 pmJust be encouraged that God has a plan for you, that there is a Godly man that God has set aside for you and God will show you through Wisdom and Guidance who that man is. I struggled from 1985 to 1989 seeing all Christian friends at Evanston Avenue Baptist Church in Muskegon, Michigan that either were engaged or married; I seriously had a conversation in my heart and soul as I cried out to God silently “will I be a single person for the rest of my life?” God answered my prayer in the form of January 28, 1989 to June 30, 1992 {courtship to engagement } to April 23, 1994 {marriage} Rebecca Mae Monroe is my wife and we have been married 27 years.

December 17, 2021 at 3:04 amI too dated someone off a Christian dating site & slowly realised he lied on his profile. He wasn’t interested in waiting for marriage & enjoyed smoking etc. I was very disappointed & impatient in waiting. I soon deleted dating app & spent much needed time with God only. Dont be unequally egg yolked, God is our match maker. I eventually got more involved in my own church & met my now husband. Don’t be in despair, enjoy your singleness & give all your hearts desires to God, he cares & hears. Your future husband is worth the God wait.

December 17, 2021 at 3:38 amThis is for goingupsoon; To answer this question literally, the answer is no. The phrase “good things come to those who wait” is a quote cited as though it can be attributed to Scripture but actually did not originate with the Bible. The Bible talks a great deal about waiting, but this phrase isn’t one of the verses. Thus, where exactly does this saying come from? What Is the Origin and Source of “Good Things Come to Those Who Wait”? Abraham Lincoln is most famous for using this quote. “Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” However, the former president did not originate the quote either. This quote actually began with a writer who lived during the 19th and 20th Centuries. Her name was Lady Mary Montgomerie Currie. As when Christians use the phrase, the meaning in her words was also to encourage the listener to exercise patience. She used the phrase in her poem “Tout vient a qui sait attendre”. In this work, Lady Mary wrote under the pseudonym Violet Fane.
