January 28, 2018 at 9:37 pmAbout 2 years ago I began having doubts and questioning my salvation. This opened the door to much unbelief and despair, and I have felt so stuck fearing this caused my heart to harden to a point that I cannot truly repent. I now see my error and the deceit in my doubting, and I have been asking the Lord to soften my heart and for grace to overcome unbelief and sin. It has caused deep depression and hopelessness. Please pray he would restore the joy of my salvation and soften my heart. I desire godly sorrow for my sin and to abide in Christ again.

January 29, 2018 at 12:42 amDear Sister Laura,
Watch out for the enemy working against you. Please consider how you may need to forgive yourself, forgive others (including God). I pray you receive John 14:27 today. I pray that you see he has never and will never leave you, but also that as you come close he will come close.Dear Lord Jesus,
Please help our sister see your love and that you dont turn away from us. Please help her lose the lies of the enemy and free her from any guilt and hopelessness. Lord help her see that we were made to live with you and this is always an open gift to be received deeply. Amenpilly1356Prayers: 846Requests: 3
January 29, 2018 at 1:50 amDear Sister Laura,
You seem to be the victim of spiritual attack. The lies the evil one can tell, well, he’s cunning and is easy to rationalize thoughts until they begin to SEEM like the truth. The thing to remember is that you are Very important in the Kingdom of God. Hence the attack. God has something for you to do with Him. I believe this with all my heart. He will Never leave you or forsake you.
Do you have clergy with whom you could talk about these fears and thoughts that are coming between you and your faith? If you do have a pastor, church elder or even a good friend who is strong in The Lord, please make a time to share this. I think, talking one on one with a Godly person, grounded in the word, will reassure you and dispel the anxiety and hopelessness that is separating you from the Peace of God and causing your depression. I’m glad you shared here, and I’ll be praying for you. Please, talk to someone about this in person. Get some help to see these kids for what they are, untangle them, and once free…run straight into the arms of The Savior! He’s as close as your very breath. Much love, Sister
Jill

January 29, 2018 at 10:22 amDoubt is not in itself a sin… It’s a lack of faith. Faith is each given to us in a certain measure (Rom 12:3). All growth requires resistance. You want to get stronger? Put more weight on the bar. You want to grow your faith? Dive into your doubt, face it, and let the evidence lead you. I am supremely confident that GOOD science and GOOD logic will ALWAYS support Scripture… How do I know this? Because Scripture is TRUTH, and truth is narrow. There is ONLY one right answer… No matter what PR campaign or marketing, or falsification of data occurs, one can NEVER make 2+2=5… There is only ONE right answer… And that answer is found in John 14:6.
So, don’t be afraid of doubt. Don’t be shamed by it. Embrace it. Research. Follow the evidence, just as Lee Strobel did… It will ALWAYS lead you back to HIM.
~Will

January 29, 2018 at 1:55 pmLaura, you are God’s beloved child. He is good, kind, loving, merciful and understands you more than you understand yourself. Stand on His promises. Don’t let yourself be deceived. Don’t deceive yourself. God is for you! That is good news! If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. His Spirit lives inside you. He is working to transform you into the image of Christ. Enjoy Him. Receive His love. Your sins are forgiven and He remembers them NO MORE. Take every thought captive. Reject any thoughts that condemn you, bring fear, depression or darkness. Walk with Him in the light. Today is the day- do it and don’t look back. He has good plans for you. He will provide for your every need. Rest in Him. Rejoice in Him! Surround yourself with praise, worship, His Word and other believers who are walking with Him. Be encouraged sister. Today is a new day. Right here and right now by the power of His Holy Spirit at work in you. You are dearly loved. Your hope and future for all eternity are secure in Him. He has given you a new heart- believe it! You are part of His family, this family. Fear not- just believe. He tells you He loves you. He is with you and will never leave you. Share the good news! Rejoice in it so that others will see Jesus in you. Shine! You are a light on a hill pointing the way to Jesus. He is the way, the Truth, the life! The days are short. He is coming back soon! Jesus, speak to Laura and let her hear You, recognize Your voice and not follower any other. Thank You for answering prayer! I pray all this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

January 29, 2018 at 2:02 pmThank you all so much. I am more recently starting to see the lies of the enemy that I believed once this door opened, and honestly I thought it was God rebuking me. The doubts I think started after I had not been obedient in something, and they were mostly regarding my salvation – “Why would this bad fruit be in my life if I were truly saved?” There were other challenging things in my life at the time too that I think I had become prideful in/thinking I was standing strong (it was by Grace) so that definitely didn’t help. I have spoken with my pastors and friends and for a long time was so consumed with fear I didn’t listen. I wish I had, as I now see they were right and Satan was probably twisting truths, that I had fallen short but God’s grace for me was still enough. I did too much research/seeking about falling away/hardening of the heart/apostasy even hoping to confirm my fears were not true but that seems to have fed those fears with “this is what you did.” I do long for the relationship I once had, and what has kept me stuck is the fear that my heart hardened to a point that I’ve become like Esau, only wanting the blessing and not true repentance. Your prayers and insight are all true, and I am going to take heed and continue to meet with my pastor and a mentor to help sort through this. The Lord delivered me from depression and fear when I first trusted Him, so remembering His Mercy to me then has been giving me hope. Please continue to pray that I can rest and remember that the cross is enough and Christ is sufficient. Thank you!

January 29, 2018 at 4:42 pmAwesome news!! So happy to hear it. Yes, that enemy really tries to trip people up, twist the truth and pull people away from Christ and the power of the cross…His sacrifice once for all. VICTORY!!! Satan’s defeat. Let’s boast in Jesus Christ and the cross like this: But for me, may it be never to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.” YES! It is well with your soul, dear one. Rest in it. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Perfect love casts out fear. Fear not. God is with you and will never leave you. Share the good news. Let His love overwhelm you. Don’t focus on earning anything would be my advice to you. Jesus paid it all because He loves You and because He is good. Just receive His love and let Him transform You into His image for your good and His glory. Let him shine in you for all the world to see. Marvel at his wonder. Keep your eyes on him and not on yourself. Sounds like You’re on the right path. Whom the Son sets free is free INDEED!! That’s you! That’s me! Believe it!! Receive it! We are free! His grace IS enough! YES! Father, thank You for this good news! Keep encouraging this person in Your Word and by Your great love! I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

January 30, 2018 at 6:19 pmThere is now no condemnation for those that come to Christ Jesus. He died for us, to save us from the evil one. If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart the name of Jesus, then you are saved. Salvation is for whoever comes to God, it’s truly a gift. Let these truths guide your heart from the attacks of the evil one and know that God is Our ever present help. Be blessed sister .

January 31, 2018 at 10:55 pmPaul says to examine yourself, whether you be in the faith or not…we are also told to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling…this should be taken very seriously, as many warnings are given. God will not affirm your salvation if you do not posses it or if you are not walking in obedience. Seek God’s mercy…and read 1 John (as it will reveal the test of faith) Paul Washer also has a good message on assurance. Look into Leonard Ravenhill and David Wilkerson. Some questions: Do you hate sin and can you continue in it? Do you desire holiness and purity? Do you fear God? Do you love (1 Cor. 13) the brethren? Do you get alone with God? AND do you continue to walk in repentance? The marks of a true follower of Christ will be good fruit, that of a new man, a new creation.

February 1, 2018 at 6:31 pm^ Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. In response to creationoflove, I am reading through 1 John and am disappointed to find I do not have or do not see many of these qualities or markings currently. I did at one point, and am fearful I have fallen away or have become hardened to a point I won’t be granted repentance. I am asking the Lord to renew my heart, for godly sorrow for my sin, for a willing repentant heart. I feel ashamed and afraid that he gave that to me in saving me, and I lost sight of the preciousness of this gift and have unconciously forsaken it. I desire Christ to be mine and to be His fully, but I feel weak in spirit. I find comfort in remembering His grace and mercy toward me and know my self pitying is unproductive. I also fear deceiving myself and just fixing on his forgiveness to make myself “feel better” instead of true repentance and change of heart. Is it too late for me?

February 2, 2018 at 5:19 amUnless a man be born again, he cannot receive the kingdom of God. Without you Lord, we fall apart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Without you, we can do nothing. A righteous man may fall seven times, but he gets back up. You Lord have an arm that is not short to save. For I AM, makes everything possible. Lord steady this believer’s way. You lead us in the way we should go for our benefit, and you speak today what we should do. Never will you leave us or forsake us, and when we doubt even ourselves. Lord your unfailing love for us is a reality. We draw lines for ourselves not to cross everyday, but your mercy endures forever. You Lord rejoice yourself, when even a prodigal son comes home after squandering his wealth . Our thoughts are not yours, and our ways are not yours, and just as the heavens are higher than the earth so are your ways higher than our ways and your thoughts higher than our thoughts. Lord we are the first to give up on ourselves, but not you. You say whoever loses their life for my sake, will find it, and he who seeks to save their life, will lose it.

February 2, 2018 at 12:01 pmDear Sister,
I pray you know deeply that it is never too late with Jesus. I pray that you know each of us can never judge you, we are not the judge our Lord is and he is saying to you I love you. I pray you receive that love deeply. Watch for the enemies lies, he will try and get you to believe those lies. There is nothing wrong with recognising the feelings for what you do for whatever was done but repemeber we are asked to confess and repent after that KNOW that you are not condemned. Becareful not to condemn yourself, but be refreshed by the renewing of your mind in the scriptures. I pray you know this is what God is doing with you:
Ezekiel 36:25
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
I pray you receive his joy in abundance and know that his love covers all things. I pray you learn how to walk closely with him and share his love with others. I pray you receive his joy that is his to give. I pray that you can see hope and a future knowing God is with you and will build you up. It is his delight to do this for you.
Stay blessed. Your brother Andy in Christ.simplify44-infoPrayers: 63Requests: 11
February 2, 2018 at 3:15 pmDear Laura,
I’m praying. Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could also see the joyful, happy smile of Jesus as he sits with you even as you struggle with this. Such tenderness. He’s not far off, waiting for you to sort yourself out before he draws near. He’s never stressed or fazed by this sort of thing, and we can be so hard on ourselves… I’m praying you can loosen your grip on those fears and doubts, and instead nestle into his deep peace and soul-wellbeing, and experience it for yourself.

February 4, 2018 at 1:08 pmJesus said those who come to Him, we will not cast away. John 6:37 – Read it. Print it out. Post it around your house. It is God’s work. We are God’s work. He is doing His great work in you. Lord, I pray you would rebuke the lies of the enemy right now in Jesus name. I pray this believer would stop looking at themselves and look to you, your cross, your resurrection. I pray they would stop meditating on what they did, do, or don’t do, but would look to you, the author and finisher of our faith. I ask in Jesus name. Amen.
I love this song…
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save from wrath and make me pure.Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Savior, or I die.While I draw this fleeting breath,
When my eyes shall close in death,
When I rise to worlds unknown,
And behold Thee on Thy throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.PraiseHimPrayers: 1076Requests: 110
February 5, 2018 at 7:31 pmLaura, the fact that you care about it shows that His Spirit has not left you. Trust in His Word and don’t let the enemy cause you to fear or doubt. It may be easier said than done, I understand that but I pray you break those old habits and rejoice that you are a child of God. He is yours. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. Let Him do the work in you- He will transform you into His image in His perfect timing and way. You can take him at His Word. Father, give Laura faith in Your Word. When we are unfaithful, yet You are faithful!! Thank You Lord!! I believe it. I receive it! Apart from You we can do nothing. Yes! I accept that. Have Your way! Give Laura peace and the assurance of her salvation regardless of what she sees or feels. You paid the price for her and for all who will receive. I pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
