March 11, 2020 at 3:12 pmPraying that the Lord will help me to totally forgive my dad. He wasn’t a great dad and wasn’t there most of my life. When he was there he beat my mother badly and had no problem doing it in front of us kids. She left him when I was 9 and I was so happy. I really hated him years after but as life went on without him my heart softened towards him. Fast forward 30 years he now needs my help. I’ve never received so many phone calls from him in my entire life as I do now. He’s homeless and disabled. I do what I can to help him as I don’t hate him. I love him because he is the dad our Lord gave me. I just find myself bothered when he’s on social media acting as if he was a good dad. Reposting our pictures as if he had anything to do with the people we grew up to be. Lord help me to let go of the past and to do what your word says. In Jesus name amen

March 11, 2020 at 6:29 pmForgive us our trespasses as we forgive them that trespass against us. Our Father grant our friend a heart that forgives her father for his past mistakes and soften her heart toward him in his old age and time of need through the Holy Spirit. Restore them to the JOY of your salvation. In Jesus name. Amen.

March 12, 2020 at 11:22 amLord, bless our sister, Kimi, through this challenging situation with her dad. Help her navigate her way through her current relationship with him, and to understand or at least accept why he is trying to look better than he was. I pray that he would repent of his past bad actions. But even if he does not, I pray that Kimi will forgive him, for her sake – so she doesn’t carry this heavy weight around for the rest of her life. Help her find a Christian counselor who can help walk her through an appropriate forgiveness process.
Kimi – My step dad acted much like what you described. He never repented or apologized before he died. My Christian counselor helped me understand the process of forgiving – it’s much more than just saying the words – and in going through that, it set me free. I pray this for you, too. If you would like to email with me, my email is: gsimonin7@outlook.com Put DAB in the subject line so your email doesn’t automatically go to Junk Mail. Blessings sister, gail

March 13, 2020 at 8:08 amI love your heart’s posture. I’m praying God reconciles the heart of his son who longs to please Him first. God bless you and make your light so shine! You brought stillness to my sinful heart of unbelief and to the lie that God’s children are dull to the hurting amongst us. Yes and Amen and Father, have your way in this young man’s heart…and be glorified by His love for you. I needed to be reminded that perhaps I am the love that has waned. Forgive me for my own sin of unforgiveness and continue to show me myself so that I can live in your light.
