I Father, You understand like no other what it’s like to have a child die. Heartbreaking. We pray You lift up the faces of our brother and sister, Tom and Jill. Carry them through this dark valley and give them peace and hope. ~gail

Heavenly Father, I ask that you would be very close to Tom and Jill as they grieve the loss of their precious Kelly. Even knowing that Kelly went straight into your arms from this world doesn’t take away the sting of her death. I pray this night that you will take this couple into your arms and guide them step by step through this grief. Increase their faith and compassion as the result of this journey through the valley of the shadow of death. Grant them an extra measure of patience with themselves and each other as they grieve, as well as with others who might not know what to say or do when they are in their company. Give them both the capacity to make one choice each day that is life giving; to make just one simple gesture each day to minister to someone else. Grant them the grace to pour out their hearts to you first. Father, be their Comforter, the strong tower to which they can run. We praise you that out of our losses comes the building of our faith. Father, you are the Lord and Giver of Life. Your ways are truly higher than our ways. Give Tom and Jill the faith they need to release their anger, and to release their right to even try to understand the overwhelming questions of why. Let them give all the emotions flooding over them to you, Father, our Lord and Creator.

Thank you, Father for Jill and Tom. I ask Lord that You would wrap Your loving arms around them. Only You and those of us who know the pain of losing a child. There is no other pain. But God You are so Faithful to comfort us. Lord comfort them as they comfort each other. Draw them even closer to you and each other. Thank you Father, in Jesus name. Amen.
