Dear Lord, You have given us Your Holy Spirit to guide us, yet all too often we decide the take the reins of our lives and try to be in control. Father, forgives us, and patiently lead us to see that we desperately need Your wisdom to guide us. Help us to see our own pride and folly for what it is – letting the evil one whisper, “You’ve got this! It’s your life. You’re in charge here!” Help us to see that he is the father of lies, trying to draw us away from Your protective guidance. Help us to see the error of our ways, to come before You and lay our pride at Your feet, Father, so that You can refresh and restore Your Holy Spirit within us. And with that, grant us wisdom, courage, insight and compassion for one another. Thank You Lord! In the mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
