May 31, 2022 at 8:28 pmWho’s Going to Pay for Paddy? Paddy went into St. Mary’s hospital for major surgery. In the recovery room, the nurse came in and said, “So Pat, how will you be payin’ for your surgery?”“Sure and I don’t know,” said Pat.“Do you have any insurance?” the nurse asked.“No,” said Pat.“Do you have any money?” she asked.“Not a penny,” said Pat.“Do you have any relatives who might be able to pay for this surgery?”“Only me spinster sister in New Mexico; she’s a nun.”“Nuns aren’t spinsters Pat, they’re married to God,” the nurse said.“Fine,” replied Pat, “then sure and you’ll be sending the bill to me Brother-in-Love.”😩😆🤣😬

May 31, 2022 at 8:31 pmLaughter lightens anger’s heavy load. Nothing diffuses anger and conflict faster than a shared laugh. Looking at the funny side can put problems into perspective and enable you to move on from confrontations without holding onto bitterness or resentment. You can take that to the bank😩

May 31, 2022 at 11:25 pmLaughter Heals the Brain If you are suffering from grief or depression, laughing at a funny joke can bring momentarily relief. Depression is accompanied by suppression of the pleasure-enhancing neurochemicals in the brain. Persons suffering from chronic depression often admit, “Nothing is funny to me.” Laughter reverses this process by triggering the release of feel-good neurohormones, such as endorphins and dopamine. Researchers believe that laughter activates the pleasure pathways in the brain.

May 31, 2022 at 11:27 pmLaughter is especially important in helping people get over chronic illness. It’s often not the illness itself that overwhelms us and drags us down, but our fear and anxiety about the illness. This can set up a stressful cycle: pain, fear, and anxiety about the illness worsens the illness, which increases pain, fear and anxiety, which, in turn, continues to worsen the illness. Humor can break this cycle by triggering the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers.

May 31, 2022 at 11:29 pmThis is how physical exercise boosts a person’s mood. It makes sense to make humor part of your daily exercise routine. Will you place this as a very top priority? 😩🤣😆

May 31, 2022 at 11:39 pmLaughter Boosts the Immune System A fascinating new area of research, dubbed psychoneuroimmunology, finds that depression suppresses the immune system. Studies show that the stress hormones epinephrine and cortisol decrease during and following laughter. Researchers at Loma Linda University School of Medicine found that medical students who watched comedy videos had a significant increase in T-cells (cells that circulate through the body and gobble up germs) and lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol

May 31, 2022 at 11:41 pmLaughter boosts natural killer cells, which are suppressed during stressful experiences. Studies have shown that people with allergies experience fewer allergic reactions after watching humorous films. A study at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York showed that in widowers, the number of natural killer cells goes down for almost a year.

May 31, 2022 at 11:43 pmLaughter Perks up the Heart Laughter makes your heart happy. It increases the heart rate and circulation, much like an aerobic workout. And, like exercise, after that laugh subsides, the heart rate drops below average.

May 31, 2022 at 11:45 pmThe improved circulation continues, and the body goes into a state of relaxation. Are you ever so angry at someone that you can feel your blood pressure rise? Let go of the anger (not so easy!), and read or tell a joke instead. Less-social and excessively serious people have higher rates of heart disease.

June 1, 2022 at 4:51 amI’ve always felt in my heart that some of the most spiritually successful preachers, evangelists, etc have a good sense of humor. I believe the Lord Jesus has a sense of humor. Too often we take ourselves so serious, we forget to smile. A merry heart ❤ is a good thing that brings healing to us and those around us. 😁

June 2, 2022 at 9:49 amI know the Lord has a sense of humor not only by His Word, but by just looking around His creation. A couple of examples: 1) platypus – part duck, part mammal – pretty amazing 2) giraffe- very long neck, black tongue and a little, itty “toucus” sp?? 😂🤣😁
