November 11, 2017 at 8:49 amUPDATE ON MATTHEW:
We had a follow up appointment yesterday. Matt is improving. His creatinine is now 2.19. We would like to see that back at 1.0. He still has a good bit of inflammation going on in his body. He will need to be on the chemo drug for a total of 6 months, so we have 5 more to go. While being on that any sickness is very dangerous so please continue to pray that God protects him from any and all sicknesses. His hemoglobin is low which is why he feels tired and weak. This is from the chemo drug because it suppresses the bone marrow so early next week he will get a shot to help his body to increase the production of that. The TCC/port is to be removed hopefully this coming week. He is planning on working from home and also going into the office as he feels up to it. Again he has to be super cautious and keep a 3-4 feet barrier from people so he will just go to his office and shut and lock the door and do his work from the phone instead of face to face. We do get to begin lowering th steroids. He will go from 80 – 60mg this next month then continue the tapering down until he is at 20 mg. This should help him feel better as well. Steroids are brutal. Please continue to pray for protection from any sicknesses and also for complete healing and remission. That this disease stays in remission and never ever relapses. Also, for continued strength for me as I care for him and our children, homeschooling them as well. Thanks so very much! -
