February 27, 2024 at 9:57 pmPlease pray for my husband and I. My husband is a believer and he was instrumental in bringing me back to Christ after I strayed for many years. He is battling a pornography addiction, low self esteem, depression, complicated grief, and feeling purposeless because he is disabled after an accident many years ago. He has lost faith in God and faith in himself. Without my husband being stable at the head of our home, it is scary for me as a wife. There are days I come home and do not know if he will still be alive. He lost his mother who was murdered 2 years ago. He is still grieving and suicidal. The loss of his mother made him come to terms with abuse he suffered from his father. He’s in therapy and he is trying his best to build from the ground up, as he feels he’s been laid bare. He is processing a lot of hurt and pain and loss, and feeling lost and hopeless. He has survived cancer as a minor and a horrible motorcycle accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury which forced him to give up his dream and quit his PhD program at Hopkins. Though he is still quite capable and very intelligent he doesn’t have the confidence to try new things in life or even in Christ. He struggles to use the remaining gifts he has (he’s still quite talented). He feels worthless because in his mind, God took his strength with cancer and then took his intelligence with the brain injury and then took his mom whom he was quite close to. I support him, love him with my whole heart, and try to keep him from going down a suicidal path, but it is taking it’s toll on me as well. He helped me find my way back to Christ early in our marriage but now it feels like spiritually he is giving up. I’ve gotten stronger and grown a lot in Christ (thanks to God) and pray for him and with him continually. I know God hears me and is with us, but sometimes it feels that God’s Word isn’t taking root anymore in my husband’s heart (which is scary). It is painful to see him suffering. Please pray for powerful deliverance of my husband and for God to remind him of his purpose. He can do great things in the world and in the kingdom. He helped guide me to having very difficult conversations about my beliefs when I was agnostic, he has a way of reaching lost sheep and a compassion that I’ve never seen in my any man other than my father. I know he’s still here for a reason but trauma, depression, and abuse seem to be trying to blot out his will to reach the future. He is a great husband, loving, kind, and faithful – but just very lost and full of distractions to numb the pain (porn, videogames, etc). His name is Matthew. Thank you DAB family so much.

February 28, 2024 at 5:43 pmTo God Be The Glory. Glory Be To God. Hebrew origin: Gift of God or Gift of Yahweh. What a powerful and promising name. Abba Father, in Jesus name we for Your will be done in brother Matthew’s life. Addiction involves more than just substance abuse; it involves being controlled by anything other than God. It is written, No one can serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). The Holy Spirit makes freedom from addiction possible (Romans 8:5-9). The Holy Spirit produces good fruit in our lives (Galatians 5:22-23). Spiritual renewal comes from God alone. Ask Him to change your heart and empower you to live a transformed life. Only God can truly renew our hearts (Psalm 86:11). Outward purity comes from inner renewal (Matthew 23:25-28). Spiritual renewal is helped by a healthy focus (Philippians 4:8). The devil is looking for ways to lead you astray and destroy your life. Stay alert to His presence and prepare for the battles you are sure to face. Use Scripture in your battles with the evil one (Matthew 4:1-11). Prepare for battle with ALL (not some) God’s armor (Ephesians 6:10-18). Don’t allow feelings of worthlessness to defeat you. You are more valuable to God than you can ever imagine! Believe in God’s love for you and His desire to bless and prosper you. Our relationship to Christ defines our self-worth (Romans 12:1-8). Self-control brings honor to God, so ask Him to help you. Obedience to God’s word leads to self-control (Psalm 119:9). Self-Control involves controlling our speech (Matthew 12:36). Life in Christ involves dying to sin (Galatians 5:24). Discipline is an important pat of the spiritual life (2 Timothy 2:5). Failure to control our words disqualifies our witness (James 1:26). God is in the business of restoring and transforming those who humbly look to Him for help. God heals the brokenhearted (Psalm 137:3). God gives strength to the weary (Isaiah 40:28-32). god gives people new hearts and new desires (Ezekiel 36:26). God will lift up those who humble themselves (1 Peter 5:6-7). In Jesus name I come in agreement with this sister for her husband’s restoration in all aspects of his life. In Jesus name we ask and pray…Amene ma Amene. -Blessings
