April 24, 2024 at 7:16 amAs a young mother of two very active boys and a special needs daughter, I wasn’t completely paying attention to these words spoken by a very wise woman in my church over 20 years ago, yet they never left my spirit. This past Sunday, our Pastor mentioned this scripture as he spoke about the trials we face. “Patience is grown into you through the trials you face.” This woman I speak of said the same exact thing to me all those years ago! He talked about our spiritual growth requiring our cooperation, that it’s gradual and a long process. My daughter is now in her late 20s and resides in a long-term care facility. Three and half years after losing my oldest son at 15-years-old, my daughter lost her vision in her left eye and the macula was detaching in her right eye. After four surgeries, she is almost completely blind. My parents are gone, we’ve lost our youngest brother and there are only three of us left in our biological family of six. There’s something to be said for letting God have His way in our lives rather than being like a stubborn mule taking our own path. If you’re a younger person or even older and still wanting to do things your way, I urge you to heed this advice from a woman who is now ‘wiser’ from deep heartache, loss and SO many poor choices. “Let patience have her perfect work.” James 1:4

April 24, 2024 at 7:31 amDearest LivingAgain; For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Excellent advised Thank you.🫶

I hope you could read it? Your post today, above is very nice and will help many as well as myself. Just wondering if you and I are close in age, as I also have grown kids. ▪️ I’m 65, but not yet retired (hopefully getting closer). Patience❗️ right? I’m divorced and have 2 adult children – daughter age 38 and son age 35, I’ve been a DABber for 4 years (just a little background). May our God and Savior bless you my sister and fellow DABber❣️ ▪️ 🙏🏼 With love, ▪️▪️GodsgalMN 💗 a k a – ▪️ ▪️ Lori / Minnesota

April 24, 2024 at 7:50 pmDearest dab siblings 💕🙌LivingAgain and GodsgalMN💕thank you for sharing your experiences. I can relate to you and I can add a little bit to the truth about how trials of life grows you to become patient. In my post titled “na ra na ra ee na re ke le na re ke—“ I shared a testimony of how my late mother taught me about how patience is a virtue. 🙌🙏 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨I am a young lady aged “74” I have lost dear ones and have faced death threats multiple times under tragic circumstances but, I am still here!! My recent and last hurdle was battling cancer!! With enduring patience; comes growth and maturity. When there is nowhere to turn, you get into the word 📖📕of God; you hold tight to Him. You learn to listen and trust Him. You use your pain to help others by being honest and transparent. You don’t live a “lie”. You don’t pretend. You help others navigate through their pain based on what you have been through because you have walked that path. 🙌🙏✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨I taught the deaf and cared For children on the Spectrum in my middle aged years. It can be very challenging and frustrating to watch what happens in their lives. Only through the grace of God can a parent of these children live their normal lives. They need God as we do also to navigate through ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨May God continue to help us to walk uprightly, in humility and compassion. Thanks again for sharing your story and your thoughts Shalom 💕

April 25, 2024 at 12:14 am💗 reply to post ⬆️ above – for: ▪️ GCOGA, 🍑 🌷 😘 ▪️ Thanks for your replies to my posts and how supportive you are for these difficult struggles. In your post ⬆️ above, it was nice to learn more about you. 👍🏼 Knowing your age now, maybe we should start our own little Sub-DAB group for people over 60‼️ Ha ha 😂 What a challenging career you had working with deaf children. Yes, that definitely requires a special level of patience. Thank you for serving the Lord❣️ Only what we do for Christ – – – – will last. A m e n. 🙌🏼 GodsgalMN ▪️ a k a – Lori 🙏🏼 🌹

April 27, 2024 at 10:53 pm▪️ 😀 Living Again, ▪️ when I wrote about a “sub-group” I was just thinking of DABbers that are older, not necessarily over 60 (ha ha). Not trying to exclude anyone, but it’s just that we relate to some things because we’ve lived longer. One can somewhat tell by how we write and what we say. Looking back to earlier in my faith walk, ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ I “thought” I had answers that I “knew” were “right,” ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ ▪️ however – with maturity, ▪️ I’ve learned that some things I thought I was right on, ▪️ are not as simplistic as I once thought, ▪️ and in fact have far more depth. Maybe that’s why the Bible so often tells us ▪️ – those who have ears, let them hear ▪️ ▪️ (v.s. speaking). Anyway, it’s just nice to find other believers that have been through similar experiences and are close to the same stage of life as you are. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏼 GodsgalMN

April 28, 2024 at 1:23 amYou’re absolutely right. Yes, it’s nice to find others in our age range that understand the seasons of life more so and have even gone through similar experiences. 💜

April 28, 2024 at 7:34 amI’ll be “eligible” in May though I can’t say I’ve got the maturity part down. I am God’s work in progress. Praying joyfully for you all!
