In Luke 1:50 we read, AND HIS MERCY IS UPON GENERATION AFTER GENERATION, TOWARD THOSE WHO FEAR HIM. What do you think it means to fear the Lord. We think fearing something means we cower and hide. Well Fear of God refers to fear as a specific sense of respect, awe, and submission to Him. GOD is over everything. Some would say that is not true, they are the masters of their own fate, and some would try to deny His existence all together. Others would say it is only the weak that need help from God. What are your thoughts? GOD created us to worship Him. Do you feel we are a generation that worships GOD? Have we become so self-sufficient that we do not need Him or want Him in our daily lives? The mercy of GOD is the forgiveness of God, not that we deserve it, but that He loves us so much to forgive us our sins. Forgiveness comes when ask for it, it is not an automatic reaction from GOD when we have sinned. It requires the repenting aspect first, from us. Bottom line, if we want the MERCY of GOD we must first realize what it is and how it operates. It requires an action on our part, and the promise made that it will continue from generation to generation to those who earnestly seek it. Seek Him first and foremost.
