February 26, 2017 at 9:27 amI am very concerned about my 21 year old son who seems to be suffering from depression. He was attending university but is now at home since October last year and will not even go outdoors.
Please help me to pray that he will receive release from the spiritual attack of depression and despondency. Thank you.jkathleendavisPrayers: 3Requests: 1

February 26, 2017 at 4:32 pmI will be praying for your son. Have you sought medical help. There could be a medical reason for this depression. I went through a time of depression the medication prescribe to me has helped. It was a result of some chemical imbalance. There is no shame to seek help. DO you have pastor that could speak to your son. God does heal and sometimes it can be through a certain medication. Praying with Christ love for you and your son.

February 26, 2017 at 9:27 pmDear Elaine,
I am sorry to hear this, I will begin praying this week, I will pray for his interests to be ignited, I pray that there is an interest that would help engage outside the doors of your house. I pray for known and safe people to inspire him. You may already have, but to understand more about it and what the health professionals may look at within diagnosis consider (type into google) ICD-10 and DSM-V criteria for depression this is from the NICE guidance in the UK and the World Health Organisation. I pray that he can seek God and be close to him through worship music. God bless you at this hard time.jtylerk9Prayers: 1512Requests: 7

February 28, 2017 at 6:29 pmThanks so much my family in Christ, for your prayers and advice regarding my son. At the moment he’s refusing to seek medical help but with your continued prayers and our combined faith I am sure that I will soon have an awesome testimony of healing. I will keep trying to encourage him to seek medical help and see if he would listen to my pastor. God bless you all richly. Please continue to pray.

February 28, 2017 at 7:07 pmHi Elaine,
So many of us are praying for our sons…whether for conversion, deliverance, healing, success, marriage and family, you name it. It is so painful to watch anyone struggling with debilitating depression, but when it is our own child, the pain is mixed with all sorts of confusing thoughts and feelings. Perhaps you can take some time each day and just sit quietly with him wherever he is and just be there with him, quietly, acceptingly, and with no requests or expectations for interaction. Just rest your heart and mind in that place with him and try to stay in that present moment without any frantic prayers racing through your mind. Let your prayer be your presence and your presence be your prayer. Maybe you could just use his name in your mind as a centering thought to come back to when your mind is tempted to stray or race. Say whatever prayers you want to before or after this time, but maybe for that 5 minutes WITH him let him slowly sense your total acceptance of his pain and eventually your openness to hearing about it whenever he’s ready, whenever time allows him to put words to what he’s feeling. just a thought, but I will be praying for both of you.
Jane
