dear dab family, I am in debt and need to get out of it. please pray that I slowly pay it off. pray for the finances to come to pay it all off.

September 2, 2019 at 11:15 amYes, Lord, we join our sister, docsolly, in praying for getting out of debt. You remind us in Your Word that the borrower is slave to the lender. So – we pray for an increasing amount of money coming in specifically to pay off these debts AND we pray that no additional debt will be taken on. Help our sister live extremely frugally, giving up everything except only that which is essential to life in the short term and for this goal of getting out of debt.
docsolly – My husband and I teach a Personal Budgeting course. One way to help yourself to spend less is to write down each and everything you spend money on. Amount, description, date. It’s a simple task and one that is very helpful to most people. I’m praying for your success. ~gail

September 6, 2019 at 12:52 pmPsalms 50:14-15 Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High. Then call on me when you are in trouble and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.
Bringing You our thankfulness is worthy above all else, Lord. We raise our hands and lift our voices to say how wonderful, amazing, powerful, and tender You are. Continuing to pray for you brother.
Another helpful tool is to write down which expenses you have that are essential to life and living, and which are things you want. (Needs vs. Wants) Then, focus on spending only on items that you Need. Stop spending on items you Want.
And, let your choices be moderate, in other words, don’t buy the most expensive shampoo. Instead choose one that costs less and still cleans properly. Then all the money you are not spending on Wants, use to pay off your debt.
This is a hard discipline, and very effective. If you’re not sure about purchasing something, go to a Christian brother who has done well with managing his finances, and ask his advice.

Help our brother with his goal to get out of debt. It can be done! It takes determination and consistency and I believe he has both. We look forward to his praise reports which show Your hand at work in his life. We also pray that You encourage him by sending him some unexpected money, and that as he praises You for it, he will use it to directly pay off some of his debt.Brother – Continue to tithe for that is money which rightly belongs to the Lord. Do not steal it from Him. He will honor you and make sure that you have what you need: food, shelter & clothing. ~gail
September 14, 2019 at 3:12 amgail and patty, i sold something and paid off the first installment of the debts quite sometime ago. then i got laid off from my job, as i found out that my lady employer has been cheating me and not paying me for thousands of files that i have done which were not accounted for. i have not been paid for unaccounted files and that comes to 400,000 to 1,000,000 rupees. when i confronted my lady employer about this discrepancy, she very much let slip that she was cheating me and she immediately asked me to tender my resignation. i did. i then got my last salary and i paid off some more debts. some remain unpaid though. thank you gail and patty for your prayers and do continue to pray for me.

Continuing to pray for this financial situation. Lord, I pray that You will be heavy on the heart and mind of this former employer who admitted to cheating our brother, docsolly, out of a significant amount of money. Move her to make restitution to him in FULL. Don’t let her rest until she has done the right thing. Bless our brother with a new, better job, one that pays much better and where he is valued for his work. Thank You for continuing to help him pay off ALL his debts. ~gail
