April 18, 2022 at 9:02 amHi DAB, I’ve not written in some time. Bit of back story, I’m a Christian without a good solid church family. I’m trying to teach my 8y/o son about Christ but it’s hard. My wife isn’t sure about Christianity as a whole anymore. We left the church we had several years back, left with a lot of hurt. Realized that many churches are just franchise business models, not really in it for the right reasons. Many good folks in those churches get caught up in the business of doing church and end up making a mess of it all. As a result, this DAB has been the only consistent church for me in years.
Life in general has always been hard for me, seemingly more difficult than others around me. I’ve made bad financial decisions, some of which were actually encouraged by the previously mentioned past church family. Selling a home was the most detrimental, I sold at the low of the housing crisis in 2008 thinking it was the right move. Now, seeing how home prices have recovered and then skyrocketed, I worry that I’ll have to rent forever. This coupled with living for the past 20 years in NYC, struggling to stay afloat financially, it’s like a trap I can’t see any way out of. I’m fearing I’ll lose my job soon and will lose what little financial progress my wife and I have made.
Looking back on my life, I see far more loss than gain. My father died penniless, literally; after losing a family farm to the IRS in the late 80’s. I’ve had to give away or had to sell what little I had just to survive and was cornered into selling some things that had significant sentimental value. I’m so scared that I will end up like him in the end. With nothing to give my son, no way to help him get a solid foothold in this life.
I’m happy that my father held on to his faith, I have no question he is with Jesus, along with my mother. But it’s hard to think of this life, a seemingly never-ending struggle, barely surviving and being just above poor as any kind of blessing. I know others in this world have it far worse, running from wars, starving in poverty far beyond anything I’ve experienced. I want so badly to have resources to help others, but I have next to nothing myself. However, I’ve hoped for some sort of restoration, some small plot of land, a home that is ours. Renting is basically asking permission every month to stay. Ownership to me is intertwined with restoration, after having lost what would have been an inherited farm. But some days, it seems like a pipe dream and I’m so tired of hoping for things that never happen.
I know this is a lot to dump on you all, and I know I need therapy, but I just hope that someone may have some advice that can help. It seems only a true miracle can turn this around form me and my family. I just feel lost in all this. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

April 18, 2022 at 9:20 amDear brother in Christ, the good news is that our living savior is a God of miracles. My advise would be to find a Bible teaching Church, plug in and get involved in serving and fellowship. In turn He will things around for you and your family. It is good to be in a desperate situation and put your hope in Him because that is when His works are manifested the most. God bless.

April 18, 2022 at 9:30 amPraying for you! The last shall be first. Remember that we’re here for you and Jesus is for you. Bless you for instilling your faith in your son. He will witness your hard work and learn so much from it. “I learned that anything God does will continue forever. People cannot add anything to the work of God, and they cannot take anything away from it. God did this so that people would respect him. What happened in the past has happened, and what will happen in the future will happen. But God wants to help those who have been treated badly.” Ecclesiastes 3:14-15 ERV https://bible.com/bible/406/ecc.3.14-15.ERV

April 18, 2022 at 9:54 amWe all face pressure in life and times when we could feel overwhelmed. The obstacle looks too big, we never dreamed we’d be dealing with a sickness, or we thought the trouble at work would be over by now. It’s easy to feel as though it’s too much, and we can’t take it anymore. The Bible says, 1 Corinthians 10:13 “God will not let you be tempted beyond what you can endure, but he will make a way of escape so that you will be able to bear it.” When God designed you, He took into account everything you would face, every struggle, every unfair situation, every set back. He placed in you strength, courage, determination to withstand it. When you feel overwhelmed, as though the pressure is too much, it is because God has bless you with strength. You have not discovered all that is in you. You’ll never know how strong you really are, until you face pressure that you never faced. It may seem unbearable, but the fact that God allowed it means you can handle it. God did not say He would make a way of escape so you can run from it, or so you can avoid it. He said it was so you can bear it. You can look back at times when you didn’t think, you could go on, the pressure seemed unbearable, but somehow it didn’t defeat you. you had the strength to get up another day, and you kept going when you did not feel you had anything left. Why didn’t it break you? Because God gave you the power to endure. I read about a little fish called the Mariana snailfish. It lives at the very bottom of the ocean, almost five miles underwater. No other fish can survive at that depth. The pressure at the depth is more than a thousand times the pressure at the surface. It would crush any other fish. What do i am trying to say? We are the church. Congregations are made of imperfect people. The minute you and I join in it’s not perfect place anymore. Don’t make excuses! Be perfect, as God Is. I am praying with you🙏🏻♥️🕊

April 18, 2022 at 10:05 amHaving read your post and the response from some of Our dab brothers and sisters; I pray in agreement with their response and wise advice and prayers for you. A couple of weeks ago; I was at the place where you are now. If God could listen to all the prayers that were offered and are still being prayed over me; I know HE will do the same miracle for you. I cannot tell you all the details of my petition but to keep it brief; I am a cancer patient receiving maintenance chemotherapy monthly and other issues but HE came to my rescue just in time so Please open your heart to receive your miracle and pray along as you are lifted before Gods mercy throne. He is risen and He is ALIVE and HE will meet you where you are. Please be encouraged 🙏 ✝️ Gods Chosen OneGA

April 18, 2022 at 11:34 amDear dabber friend, I also agree with the families heartfelt prayers, and encouragement. Life can be difficult. JESUS even said that in the world we would have trouble. But that we were not to fear because He’s overcome the world. It would be nice if God would show us every thing we would be walking through in this life. The unknown can help to make us feel hopeless. It important to keep in mind, that we all go through seasons where it seems as though nothing we do is working. But if at some point in our lives we’ve given our hearts to JESUS, then we are His. And because we are, He’s going to work every thing together for our good. It all boils down to trusting Him, God knows exactly what He’s doing. He’s right on course, even though our path feels like a detour many times. We can trust Him, because He knows all, sees all, and is completely sovereign over all (Heb. 4:13). Thank God, that when we feel lost, He given us His WORD to encourage us. His WORD which is a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path (Psa. 119:105). Thank God, that by going to His WORD we can be helped to navigate through this life of uncertainty…– Gracious heavenly Father, thank You for Your beautiful promise that You’ll never leave us, nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5). And LORD, thank You That You are with us in everything that we encounter. And that no matter what we face, You will never leave our side. LORD, we pray for our dabber friend, that through the moments where he feels lost in a world of unknowns, that You would come along side and fill him with courage to be strong, and encouraged by the fact that he’s not walking alone. May he find comfort in Your promises, knowing that You are ever at work in his life, and that he need not fear for his future. For LORD, as (De. 31:6) declares, You are on his side, and You won’t abandon him, or leave him…
Praying in JESUS Holy name. Amen! 💓

April 18, 2022 at 2:08 pmFather in heaven, Thank you so much that this Dabber’s father stayed victoriously in the faith regardless of the trials he went through. You are the Creator of all that exists. You warned the man you created that in the day he disobeyed (God) and ate the fruit, he would die. You were right there when man needed you, when he was in sin and hiding, to slay the lamb, the temporary sacrifice, to cover man’s nakedness and his sin. You had a plan to save man from the death penalty his sin had brought upon him. The Old Testament is the story of God separating a people into which he would send his Son to be born. The New Testament is the story of what Christ did to save us forever from our sin. Now if we repent of our sins and turn from them, trusting in Jesus completely he gives us a new heart and changes us from the inside out. Sometimes we know this but we start trusting ourselves in all the details of life. That’s called living in the flesh. I pray this couple will put you first and trust you completely to bring them to a stable place financially. Please show them the way. Help them to forgive those who led them astray and caused this considerable loss. May you lead them to the home they desire. Bless this dad with all the resources he needs to teach his son. Help him trust you to do it. He is responsible yes. He trusts you to guide and prepare him to be a living example to his son. May all in this family live lives pleasing to you. We give you all the praise. In Jesus name
